Just a couple of West Virginia gals (+ professional moms of multiples!) who believe in getting stuff done in D.C. And, now, it’s very clear that @Weijia is the best among us. As the late Biggie Smalls would’ve put it, “…all the ladies in the place with style and grace” couldn’t hold a candle to Weijia Jiang this past weekend. While I was on the other side of the country due to a prior commitment and couldn’t be there with so many friends and people I respect — as I had been in years past — I have complete admiration for the professionalism I saw from this newswoman. I’ve shared both laughs and the small screen with her, and she conducted herself in a manner that I’m sure countless people [well beyond small-town kids like us] were in awe of. It was clear she knew no other way, and for that I’m proud to know her. As daughters of Asian immigrants, my heart skips a beat knowing that Weijia’s family was there to see the product of their hard work in a rural state that didn’t have many, if any, people who looked like us. She showed them and the world what leadership under fire looks like, sadly, quite literally. Like millions of my fellow Americans, I was relieved the chaos of this past Saturday night didn’t develop into anything more serious, and that the Secret Service bravely contained the threat to everyone in attendance. While it’s very unfortunate that Weijia’s first dinner as White House Correspondents’ Association President was marred by this unfathomable political violence, I’m certain there is a lesson here for all of us — whether we were in that ballroom or not. Weijia delivered that lesson through her actions: not flinching, not missing a beat, and just getting stuff done. A very worthwhile lesson borne out of an awful moment. One for the history books, indeed.

🌎🌍🌏Happy Earth Day! A most perfect day to share my recent chat with the CEO of the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a new friend & powerhouse Ken Cook. We dove deep into why putting principles over power is the real path forward for protecting our planet & public health. Ken & I both believe real progress happens when we find common ground across the aisle. 🎥 Tap the video for a teaser & listen to the full episode here: 🔗 YouTube: https://lnkd.in/e-hzJDYS 🔗 Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eGmQW3kV 🔗 Apple Podcasts (& everywhere): Search “Ken Cook Is Having Another Episode” featuring Rina Shah: Principles over Power I’d love to hear about one way you’re honoring the Earth (& protecting your health) today. Please share in the comments. 💚 #EarthDay #PrinciplesOverPower #EnvironmentalHealth #EWG #Podcast

✨ There are moments that quietly remind me how powerful freedom really is — especially right now, as an American woman who: has the freedom to speak openly, can move through society with ease, wears whatever I want whenever I want, and is exposed to a true diversity of thought. The Diplomatic Courier’s Spring Embassy Soirée — “Diplomacy in Bloom” — celebrating 20 years at the historic Cosmos Club was exactly that kind of evening. Heartfelt congratulations to the visionary founder Ana Carcani Rold on two decades of building bridges, convening global leaders, and championing thoughtful international dialogue. (And a quick shoutout to Anastasia Dellaccio for the wonderful introduction that brought us together again!) I’m particularly excited about what’s next: the launch of The Global Embassy, Diplomatic Courier’s bold new legacy project. Here’s to deeper cross-cultural understanding, richer global conversations, and continued leadership shaping the discourse for years to come. 🌍 Grateful for gatherings like this and the communities they strengthen. Oh, and when the invite says Black Tie / Pink Tie? Let’s just say I was all too happy to comply. 💖😉 #DiplomaticCourier #TheGlobalEmbassy #DiplomacyInBloom #SpringSoiree #GlobalLeadership

When one of the country’s top voting experts also rocks platforms like a pro…pics or it didn’t happen. 😉😄
Always grateful for time with my dear friend & election trailblazer Amber McReynolds, who’s also Madame Chair of the U.S. Postal Service. We’re both clearly dedicated to helping our representative democracy step up, one ballot (& heel) at a time! 😅

From the C-SPAN studio: lipstick on the mug, sharp takes on the table. Humbled by the invitation to be an expert guest on the legendary show “Ceasefire” recently re-launched & now hosted by the phenomenal Dasha Burns. Taped my episode today, & it airs tomorrow/Sat/Sun on @cspan . You won’t want to miss this cross-aisle convo… Civil discourse + coffee stains = a winning combo. ☕✌️❤️

Appearing on @cbsnews to discuss Day 3 developments in the Iran conflict, new polling on public attitudes toward foreign entanglements, & the overlay with midterm elections. As a geopolitical adviser, I focus on the broader risks, alliances, & long-term consequences. Much to consider & discuss about what this means for stability and strategy ahead. ⚖️🇺🇸 #FreeIran #GeopoliticalRisk #ForeignPolicy #ElectionSeason #USA

DC theater at its finest this past week with the Clinton sequel: Hillary “never met him,” Bill “saw nothing, did nothing wrong.” Six hours each of grilling, zero new dirt, & still zero justice for the Epstein/Maxwell victims who actually suffered. Enough with the partisan ping-pong. Subpoena everyone, release it all, & put the survivors first. Accountability isn’t a photo op, especially when it’s this long overdue. My unfiltered analysis on @TRTWorld Friday morning previewing Bill Clinton’s testimony before a House Committee. #JusticeForEpsteinVictims #AccountabilityNow #EpsteinFiles #SurvivorsFirst #Congress

Tariffs are taxes. Courts still matter. Congress needs to wake up. As a signatory on an amicus brief in the winning Supreme Court case, I had a front-row seat — talked through it all on @CBSnews on this ❄️snow-filled morning.
