Just a couple of West Virginia gals (+ professional moms of multiples!) who believe in getting stuff done in D.C. And, now, itâs very clear that @Weijia is the best among us. As the late Biggie Smalls wouldâve put it, ââŚall the ladies in the place with style and graceâ couldnât hold a candle to Weijia Jiang this past weekend.
While I was on the other side of the country due to a prior commitment and couldnât be there with so many friends and people I respect â as I had been in years past â I have complete admiration for the professionalism I saw from this newswoman. Iâve shared both laughs and the small screen with her, and she conducted herself in a manner that Iâm sure countless people [well beyond small-town kids like us] were in awe of. It was clear she knew no other way, and for that Iâm proud to know her.
As daughters of Asian immigrants, my heart skips a beat knowing that Weijiaâs family was there to see the product of their hard work in a rural state that didnât have many, if any, people who looked like us. She showed them and the world what leadership under fire looks like, sadly, quite literally.
Like millions of my fellow Americans, I was relieved the chaos of this past Saturday night didnât develop into anything more serious, and that the Secret Service bravely contained the threat to everyone in attendance. While itâs very unfortunate that Weijiaâs first dinner as White House Correspondentsâ Association President was marred by this unfathomable political violence, Iâm certain there is a lesson here for all of us â whether we were in that ballroom or not. Weijia delivered that lesson through her actions: not flinching, not missing a beat, and just getting stuff done.
A very worthwhile lesson borne out of an awful moment. One for the history books, indeed.
đđđHappy Earth Day! A most perfect day to share my recent chat with the CEO of the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a new friend & powerhouse Ken Cook.
We dove deep into why putting principles over power is the real path forward for protecting our planet & public health. Ken & I both believe real progress happens when we find common ground across the aisle.

⨠There are moments that quietly remind me how powerful freedom really is â especially right now, as an American woman who: has the freedom to speak openly, can move through society with ease, wears whatever I want whenever I want, and is exposed to a true diversity of thought.
The Diplomatic Courierâs Spring Embassy SoirĂŠe â âDiplomacy in Bloomâ â celebrating 20 years at the historic Cosmos Club was exactly that kind of evening.
Heartfelt congratulations to the visionary founder Ana Carcani Rold on two decades of building bridges, convening global leaders, and championing thoughtful international dialogue. (And a quick shoutout to Anastasia Dellaccio for the wonderful introduction that brought us together again!)
Iâm particularly excited about whatâs next: the launch of The Global Embassy, Diplomatic Courierâs bold new legacy project. Hereâs to deeper cross-cultural understanding, richer global conversations, and continued leadership shaping the discourse for years to come. đ
Grateful for gatherings like this and the communities they strengthen.
Oh, and when the invite says Black Tie / Pink Tie? Letâs just say I was all too happy to comply. đđ

Appearing on @cbsnews to discuss Day 3 developments in the Iran conflict, new polling on public attitudes toward foreign entanglements, & the overlay with midterm elections.
As a geopolitical adviser, I focus on the broader risks, alliances, & long-term consequences.
Much to consider & discuss about what this means for stability and strategy ahead. âď¸đşđ¸

DC theater at its finest this past week with the Clinton sequel: Hillary ânever met him,â Bill âsaw nothing, did nothing wrong.â Six hours each of grilling, zero new dirt, & still zero justice for the Epstein/Maxwell victims who actually suffered.
Enough with the partisan ping-pong. Subpoena everyone, release it all, & put the survivors first. Accountability isnât a photo op, especially when itâs this long overdue.
My unfiltered analysis on @TRTWorld Friday morning previewing Bill Clintonâs testimony before a House Committee.

Tariffs are taxes. Courts still matter. Congress needs to wake up. As a signatory on an amicus brief in the winning Supreme Court case, I had a front-row seat â talked through it all on @CBSnews on this âď¸snow-filled morning.
