Join us for topic-based discussions on sobriety as it relates to being in the music scene, whether you’re sober or sober curious🤩 Riffs and Recovery meets at @gallery5arts in Richmond, VA every Monday from 1-2pm! 🦋 The mission of Riffs and Recovery is to offer hope, fellowship, and a path forward to anyone who is dealing with substance abuse, alcoholism, or addiction in general. Our group focuses on anyone involved in the music industry or music scene, but all are welcome. By coming together and sharing our perspectives, we can acknowledge that addiction cannot be overcome by isolation and willpower alone. We hope to create a safe space with a harm-reduction approach for both sober and sober-curious people. We’re here to discuss the difficulties and celebrate the wins that come with choosing to be sober in the music world. “It only takes two to have a meeting,” said Matt Wild. He and Aspen DeRosa are the co-founders of Riffs and Recovery (@riffsandrecovery ), a discussion-based sobriety support meeting group and organization, specifically for Richmond musicians and music lovers. “You can enjoy going to shows or work in shows or play in bands that is interested in recovery in any capacity, so that could be alcohol recovery or specific drugs of choice," Wild said. This event will also be the release of the @riffsandrecovery mocktail menu with the help of @point5rva and @mothershrub ! These mocktails will now be a permanent part of the G5 menu! Drum sheds are for anyone at all levels of playing to jam, learn from each other, share ideas and hangout in a friendly and supportive environment. @ghost_in_human_shape and @escargotwellsfargo will be hosting this evening of 1 on 1 percussion sessions featuring you and anyone who wants to come and play drums! Put your name in the hat, get called at random, and hit the drums! If you’ve been wanting an opportunity to try out the drums or just want to play with others, this is for you!
