Sea Otter Classic 🌊🦦 Late post, but the @seaotterclassic was one for the books. Raced the Fuego XC, coming in with a P5 in age group. I was originally planning on racing elite, but doubted myself; looking back my time would’ve landed me 12th with the big dogs. Bit of motivation for the future and proof that sometimes the only thing holding you back is your own mind. Huge thanks to @lifetime.life for letting me represent the event as a SOC Ambassador this year šŸ™Œ Being able to help shine light on the event from my perspective, and race alongside some of the best made this whole week unforgettable šŸ“øšŸ”„ Now time to lock in for my next event: The Lemurian Classic p/b @redding_trail_alliance in my hometown, this Saturday!

The Poison Oak Triple - featuring three @bigfootadventurechallenge courses - was the sort of chaos, in the best possible way, this group has become known for. Cheers to a good group and better atmosphere.

US Pro Cup Arkansas šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Three races, three days, back to back. Kicked things off with the U23 short track on Friday; was supposed to be a combined elite race got split with 90+ riders, which made for some proper racing. Saturday’s U23 XCO was a step forward, moving up strong from a last row call-up on a super rocky course. Capped it off Sunday with a P4 in the Cat 1 race — best result of the weekend and a solid sign things are trending the right way. After having to take a week off after Puerto Rico, I felt about as good as I could’ve and handled the heat well. Huge thank you thanks to my parents, coach @davdhaddox , team @dirtcampracing , @bekenetik @faastproducts , and @activeptredding for the support. Shout out to @a.k.lensandlight and @c.spill.photo for grabbing some sweet shots šŸ“ø @uscupmtb

Tropical MTB Challenge complete āœ… Salinas brought tough courses, serious heat, and some of the best competition in the Western Hemisphere. After a crash at the start of the first race, it wasn’t the opener I wanted — but I reset, stayed patient, and improved each time I lined up, finishing it off with the Continental Series XCO šŸ‡µšŸ‡· Progress every race. That’s the goal. Huge thank you to my team @dirtcampracing , coach @davdhaddox , parents, and sponsors for the constant support — none of this would happen without them. Rincón up next to wrap up this chapter ā˜€ļøšŸŒŠ — @iamspecialized_mtb @cuoreofswiss @faastproducts @activeptredding @bekenetik @tropicalmtbchallenge @c.spill.photo

In the coming months, on February 21 and March 14, there will be two traditional style events. The Churn Creek Bottom Bash (largely featured in the panels above) and Ronde van Redding (a mostly road ride), respectively. The rides will be detailed on the Strava group page in the bio and both end at @westsidetapandcork during normal business hours. This group has first and foremost been one about community and fostering positivity. Come contribute. See you on the trails. . . . . . #cycling #cyclist #adventurecycling

The holidays are a wonderful time - when done properly. At the core, these times call for an honest reflection of self and commitment to values: family, community, kindness, and love. The Internet - and social media - are largely not those things. So I’ll be taking a sabbatical for the rest of 2025. @redding_trail_alliance has something fun, quirky and community focused in the mix, @westsidetapandcork and @reddingadventurehub have thirsty third Thursdays supporting the local trails, and the homies at @chaingangbikeshop are always keeping it real. With the @reddingpublicmarket opening there’s little else I can say, do, or add, and to be honest, am eager just to put this thing down and enjoy directly. This isn’t a message calling for the end of cell phones, but life is made of moments, which are quantified by minutes, sometimes seconds, and when looking back on how I’d like to have spent mine, it’s certainly not going to be defined by a little black mirror. After all, if a goal is to create the best story, and do the most good - is this medium the way to do it? Grateful for the ability to have a ā€œdigital detoxā€ and wishing you and yours all the same. See you on the trails. . . . . #cycling #cyclist #gravel #gravelbike

September 7, 2025 is the only one you will have. That, obviously, is true for every day. Of course, there have been others, and hopefully there will be more of them. But it is inherently unique. Often, maybe too often, rhythm and routine are mistaken for or characterized as boring or uncreative. The mistake in that is that there is an underrated art in finding a rhythm or routine; where the noise of the world can get shut out, and the simplicity of discovering something you have done over and over that just works, that accomplishes, that moves you forward seamlessly is a fundamental creation. Singletrack Sundaze is, first and foremost, a practice on that reflection. It is a moment to pause and appreciate the pieces of dusty caramel trail that have been ridden thousands of times by thousands of people. And yet - in some iterations, as it will be during the Cascade Commotion in November - have never been touched. Same river, different water - same gravel, different road. The ride will showcase and preview portions of the timed singletrack sections for this year’s alleycat. The ride will also be social, just under 20 miles and just over 1k elevation change, will end joyously at @westsidetapandcork , and will also be a time to take a moment to find what may make this route - and this time of life - different. What makes this time once in a lifetime? The supple rubber keeps turning. The chain grease leaves drops on the chainstays over a layer of dirt. The knobs imprint familiar marks on the trails. But it never is the same twice. And neither are these sections of trail Singletrack Sundaze will showcase. . . . . #gravel #adventurecycling #cyclist

1/3 Route2Change is a moving town hall event organized by The White Line Foundation, a nonprofit advocating for safer roads for cyclists, pedestrians, and other vulnerable road users. Launched in Boulder, Colorado, Route2Change puts state legislators on a bus tour to locations where traffic fatalities have occurred. At each stop, the event honors lives lost, shares stories behind the statistics, and encourages community members to advocate for stronger protections. The initiative aims to transform outrage into policy action by directly engaging lawmakers and affected communities on the ground. I will be documenting all of these event stories and interactions between victims and legislators. Documenting this is very personal to me, and helping move forward any possible progress for vulnerable road users is the only sane thing to do when the road keeps chewing up the people we love and spitting out ghost bikes where laughter used to be. This isn’t content; it’s a ledger of blood and asphalt, a record of promises made under streetlights that flicker like bad motel neon. I’m here to catch the moments before they evaporate in the hot breath of the news cycle, raw testimony traded between cyclists who carry the scars and legislators who carry the pens. Helping move forward any possible progress for vulnerable road users is a grim kind of optimism, the stubborn, unglamorous faith that something better can be hammered out of bent rims, mangled spokes, and broken hearts. It’s shaking hands with the system and keeping the other hand on the handlebars, ready to swerve. It’s standing in the bike lane while the light changes and saying, ā€œNo, we’re not done. Not yet.ā€ #Route2Change #TheWhiteLine #RideForMagnus #ProtectVulnerableRoadUsers #VisionZero #SafeStreets #RoadSafety #EndTrafficViolence #VulnerableRoadUsers #CompleteStreets #ProtectedBikeLanes #CyclingSafety #BikeAdvocacy #BikeCommuting #BikesBelong #Boulder #Denver #FortCollins #ColoradoSprings #Colorado #ActiveTransportation #UrbanPlanning #MobilityJustice #PublicHealth #CommunityAction #TownHall #StorytellingMatters #DocumentaryInProgress #PolicyChange
