🥇 Stoked to get my first win (age group - let’s not get ahead of ourselves) at @challengesalou over the weekend, and to qualify for the Challenge Championship in Slovakia in 2027. Less than 12 months since my first triathlon this felt pretty cool. And to be super honest, with my head in absolute pieces this past few months, it’s a result that feels quite relieving. Mental health issues are no joke, but at least my body still knows how to show up when it matters. With a 4:06:09 in optimal conditions, it was an event from which I couldn’t have asked anything more. A PB run was especially nice to look down and see at the finish line, and with a bit more focus on the two non-bike disciplines I really do hope to crack that sub-4 hour barrier before the end of the year. If you’ve got any suggestions as to where might suit, I’m all ears… Stats: Swim: 1900m. 31:09. 1’38/100m Ride: 90km. 2:07:04. 42.49kp/h Run: 21.1km. 1:22:49. 3’59/k As always, I want to say a massive thank you to the people and brands in my corner who make it possible to go out there and perform as best I can: @cuoreofswiss provided me the fastest and most comfortable tri-suit one could ask for, with full custom tailoring and the exact design I wanted. @ride_BMC and @dtswiss brought together my new Speedmachine just in time to help me set a bike leg PR. @corosglobal had me tracking my training perfectly in the lead up to the event, and @fuelplus.es had me cranking 150g/carb per hour with zero issues. I also want to say a special thank you to @mattewpiciu and @raissa_costea for coming down from Girona to cheer. Triathlon is a sport where you’re only as good as your support, and if this result is an indication of anything, it’s that they should be on payroll with athletes much better than I. I couldn’t have done it without you guys…🫶🏼 Tomorrow I head off for a 600km relay run across Spain, from which i’m sure there will be plenty of stories, so keep an eye out for that and I’ll see you all at the next one. #ChallengeSalou #BuiltByCuore #Triathlon #YeahGoodThanks

I love bike riding. And I love bike racing. For the past 15 years, it’s been a huge part of who I am and what I do. Not to prove anything to anyone else, but to prove something to myself. Growing up, I always felt like I was one step behind. I was never tall enough to be cool, never fast enough to be picked, wasn’t smart enough to be recognised, or talented enough to stand out. Then I found cycling, and realised it’s a sport where everyone can excel. Which meant that I could too. Grades didn’t matter. And size didn’t either. Bigger riders could go well on the flat. Lighter riders could climb. Talent helps, but it’s nothing without motivation. And what I lacked in the former, I made up for with the latter. And slowly, slowly, it taught me to love myself. Not in spite of my insecurities, but because of them. Among the chaos that was my early-20’s brain, riding (and eventually racing) provided me solace. It allowed me presence. I learned to use my anxiety as an outlet; to enjoy the process of improvement more than the satisfaction of a result. With nothing to prove to anyone, every step of progress was a win. And the repetition of pride in myself for evolving as a rider is why I’m still doing it today. — These days, I’m lucky enough to call bike riding (and creating content around it) my job. Not because I’ve mastered it (I still blow up in races like I did yesterday), but because I chased how it made me feel and never let go. Being supported by brands that allow me to keep doing what I love is something I’ll never take for granted, and will forever be appreciative for. If I reach the end of my 30’s and have these sorts of memories to look back on, I’ll know I will have done them right. And that younger me would be proud. — Photos from after @thetraka 200 yesterday, the first of 4 big endurance events I’m doing this month. If yesterday’s vibe was anything to go by, I’m super excited for the next 3. More on those coming soon. @cuoreofswiss @ride_bmc @corosglobal #TLDR #Traka200 #BikeRacing #BMCKaius01 #yeahgoodthanks

Some people race Mid South for a podium. Most people race it for something harder to name. Michelle drove three days from San Diego to line up for the 50 miles. Lissa ran a 50k ultramarathon on Friday and got back on her bike for 100 miles on Saturday. Neither of them is a professional athlete. Both of them finished. Unbound is next. This is what gravel looks like for the rest of us. Link in bio.

Some races are remembered because of the result. Others because of everything you experience on the way there. The Cape Epic definitely belongs to the latter category. For @lasse_reuss and @fadribarandun_97 , the Cape Epic was far more than just a race. Read more in our blog post.
