This weekend, Rhythm Foundation is launching Bandshell BeachClub, a new two-day music festival at the Miami Beach Bandshell. The concept is straightforward: the stage is inside the venue, the ocean is right behind it, and the whole weekend is built around moving between the two. The Rhythm Foundation has spent over three decades bringing international music to Miami Beach, and this lineup reflects that range. Saturday runs Sudan Archives in her Miami debut, Peruvian psychedelic cumbia pioneers Los Mirlos, and Baile Funk Cumbia from producers João Brasil and El Dusty, alongside local jazz-fusion quartet The Smoogies and DJs Dude Skywalker and Danny Buckwell. Sunday brings Brazilian neo-psych group Boogarins performing with Adrian Quesada of Black Pumas, London-born Leifur James making his US debut, LA duo Rio Kosta, plus a separate Adrian Quesada DJ set and DJs Nikita Green and Sombra. Everglades Oysters, Il Pizzaiolo Kiko, and La Milanation are on food duties. Boucher Brothers are handling beach chairs, umbrellas, and lawn games on the sand, and re-entry between the venue and the beach stays open until 7pm.
