Happy Tutu Tuesday. Here is the story behind this tutu by @rexyruben for @kadeem.enpointe 💙
This project began with design, but the conversation underneath it was about visibility. About how ballet continues to define beauty, line and perfection in ways that can feel fixed until someone chooses to question them.
This was never only about a tutu. It was also about the tones we are told are neutral, the shoes we are told should disappear and the quiet ways dancers are often asked to adjust themselves to fit an existing picture.
We wanted to push that picture a little further.
