Most colleges and universities rely on toxic pesticides to maintain their campuses, but it doesnât have to be this way. Weâre on a mission to eliminate synthetic pesticides from all U.S. college campuses by 2030, protecting the health of students, staff, and groundskeepers while restoring biodiversity and strengthening climate resilience. A healthier campus and a healthier planet? Now thatâs a win-win! #rewildyourcampus
We have BIG news to celebrate! Our founder, Mackenzie Feldman, has been featured in @forbesunder30 for Social Impact! đżđ
This recognition is a testament to the power of student activism, community leadership, and a vision for campuses free from toxic pesticides. Weâre so proud of Mackenzie and grateful for everyone who has helped grow this movement.
If youâre inspired by this milestone, consider supporting our End of Year Fundraiser, every contribution helps fuel the change. Donate through the link in our Linktree! â¨
Hereâs to rewilding more campuses, building healthier communities, and continuing the work together. Congratulations, Mackenzie! #forbes #forbes30under30
At a @berkeleyhaas pollinator garden weeding day, @rewildberkeley students not only got to help the grounds team keep @ucberkeleyofficial pesticide free but we also got to present the amazing gardening team with their frame Gold level Green Grounds Certificate.Â
Check out some great photos from this celebratory pollinator garden weeding day!
While in the Bay Area, we had a special screening of Groundswell in Marin. It was amazing to spend the evening with a room full of people who believe in this movement: That students, groundskeepers, and communities can change the way we care for our land Thank you to everyone who showed up and stayed for the conversation afterward.
And a huge thank you to Paul Lightfoot for opening your home and making this night possible. đ
A year-long investigation by @motherjonesmag  just dropped, and itâs a lot. Did you know that the fastest-growing use of glyphosate isnât farming, itâs forestry. Forest glyphosate use in California alone has grown nearly 5x in two decades. And itâs only accelerating.
Now 10,000 acres near Mt. Lassen, CA and 75,000 more near Lake Tahoe will be sprayed.Â
Quebec banned glyphosate in 90% of its forests in 2001. No roundup is required. We must voice our concerns and hold our institutions accountable for the safety of our public spaces for humans and nature.

Weâre thrilled to spotlight @cascadiacollege who we have recertified at the Platinum level with our Green Grounds Certification! Their newest chapter: Rewilding their campus with native edible plants that give back to local wildlife and the people who call campus home. đžđŚ
This is what it looks like when a campus truly grows with intention. Weâre proud of everything the Cascadia community has built, and for their continued commitment to rewilding. Thank you for continuing to be a part of our community!
Congratulations! đđ
When we talk about rewilding your campus, what do we actually mean? đż Think: swapping out turf grass for native plants, trading non-native flower beds for wildflowers that come back every year, or starting a native garden right outside your dorm.
Every campus and community is different: Unique ecosystems, unique decision-makers, unique possibilities. Rewilding might look different depending on where you are and whoâs on board. But no matter the scale, weâre here to help you take that next step. đ
Hope in the future restored. Grateful to meet Mackenzie Feldman and her team at @rewildyourcampus who are eliminating chemicals in the environment one college campus at a time. The #organicmovement lives and is spreading far and wide.
The next generation is ready to take on the world!
Check out some photos of a very special weeding day! đđąđŚ
While in the Bay Area, we got the chance to visit a second-grade class at Peralta Elementary School in Oakland for Earth Day! It was such a joy to screen our film for these students and have discussion about the importance of going organic and protecting our pollinators!
A few days later, the class did a field trip to UC Berkeley to take part in a weeding day with the Re:wild Berkeley student leaders!
The future of rewilding is in good hands! đ
Spring planting season is when most landscape decisions get madeâoften without much thought about long-term impact.
Native plants arenât just a preference. Theyâre the foundation of a functioning ecosystem.
And despite whatâs on display at nurseries, the better choice isnât always the obvious one.

Last week, we celebrated the launch of our new film, Groundswell: The Re:wild Your Campus Story.
We chose to screen this film the week of Earth Day because Earth Day isnât just a moment to celebrate the planet, itâs a moment to be honest about what weâre doing to it, and to recommit to doing better.
Native plants belong here, and they always have. But across campuses nationwide, toxic pesticides continue to threaten the wildflowers, pollinators, and ecosystems we need to protect.
As those conversations grow louder, the need for real alternatives has never been clearer. Last week is proof of whatâs possible and so is the work happening every day across the campuses we work with nationwide, where students and groundskeepers are already proving that beautiful, toxin-free landscapes are the future.
