Some projects are meant to be seen… and some of the most important work is meant to disappear.
We were honored to be trusted by Athena and Studio Calderone to thoughtfully integrate technology and sound into this beautiful Tribeca home recently featured and gracing the cover of Architectural Digest. While you won’t see our work in the photos, that’s actually the point.
Great residential AV is about restraint. It’s about carefully integrating music, control, and technology so that it enhances the home without ever competing with the architecture or design. Our philosophy has always been simple: let the designers lead. Our job is to support their vision not interrupt it.
In this project that meant discreetly integrating whole-home music, a media room, robust networking, Lutron lighting control, and elegant Meljac hardware. We believe that after the dust settles on a large project such as this, the things that the homeowners interact with the most are the very things that we install into their homes. The perfect lighting and music for entertaining friends and family, or an engaging experience snuggled up on the couch enjoying a movie night with the family. We believe it's these experiences in daily life that ultimately make a home, a home.
We’ve been fortunate to have our work included in many Architectural Digest homes over the years, and interestingly, AV is rarely mentioned. That’s not a complaint it’s actually a sign the project was executed correctly. Some of the best technology disappears.
One more thing worth saying: while many people know Athena from the glamorous side of the internet as a style icon, and design visionary.. working with her, Victor, and their family in person has been a real pleasure. They are incredibly kind, thoughtful, and down-to-earth people, and collaborating with clients like that is what makes projects like this so rewarding.
Beautiful homes deserve beautiful sound and intuitive control even if you can’t see where it’s coming from.

We had the pleasure of working with Michael Che, who is an unbelievable human being and a true music lover. This was his first high-end hi-fi system. The results were, well, you'll see in the video. We normally don't publicly talk about our customers by name. We work with the rich and famous all of the time. But Michael was so over the moon that he said "no problem" and I thought the story was worth telling!
