Welcome to CTRL+Print, a new Mixmag Asia series curated by Farhana (
@smileywor1d ) decoding the visual culture of electronic music across Asia and beyond.
For our first edition, we spotlight three digital artists whose artworks are reshaping Asia’s electronic music aesthetic:
Jace (
@Replica.psd ) is a self-taught multidisciplinary creative force in Asia’s underground music scene, and his flyers employ his recognisable “single-take” cinematography to achieve immersive storytelling effects.
Zoe (
@xxzzoe365 ) has been active in China’s underground electronic music club scene, constantly producing flashy and eye-catching visuals. They’re saturated, and demand your full attention, pulling inspiration from her favourite music, movies, anime and even silly internet memes.
Akira’s (
@a.mimasu ) flyers made in collaboration with Arthur (
@arthur.bray ), both of creative agency and DJ collective Yeti Out (
@yetiout ), create a memorable visual identity that is bold, unique, and tailored to the fast-paced, multi-genre chaos of the parties they throw in cities all over the world.
