Fire Station 8 in West Hollywood was built in 1953. In 2023, it was deemed vulnerable to collapse in an earthquake... but our firefighters still live and work in it every single day.
Today I announced a $500,000 federal investment I secured to help replace it with a modern station built for the emergencies our community faces right now.

While Trump was ranting on social media at 3 AM about our city, Angelenos were tunneling, laying track, and building a transit system that makes life more affordable.
Today, I got to ride for the launch of these three brand-new stations, nearly four miles of track, and a 20-minute ride from Downtown to Beverly Hills.
Last year I toured this line in a hard hat. Today, trains are running. It’s essential progress towards a better future.

Freedom of speech is the First Amendment to the US Constitution because it’s the foundation of our democracy. It’s not an afterthought.

When Democrats regain the majority, we will hold the FCC accountable for illegally trying to punish those critical of the President.
Congressional hearings are coming.
We will investigate the FCC’s unlawful collusion with the White House to look for evidence of targeting based on speech.
If the FCC or White House officials don’t want to answer to Congress, we’ll subpoena them.
There is no escaping accountability.
