🚨MOVEMENT PRE-PARTY ANNOUNCEMENT🚨: On Friday May 1st we bring you rising Detroit phenom Ashton Swinton (@ashton.swinton ) to headline Persona’s official Movement Pre-Party. Each ticket automatically enters you into a raffle to win one of two available GA passes to the @movementdetroit festival. Winners will be announced at the end of the night. You must be present for the drawing to win. Every Memorial Day Weekend, thousands of music fans from across the globe embark on a sonic journey to the dance music epicenter. Movement, celebrating 20 years as a true institution in the world of electronic music festivals, remains unwavering in its dedication to both the music and the culture that surrounds it. Born and raised on the West side of Detroit, Ashton Swinton is a second generation DJ who grew up hearing ghettotech spun in his basement, and his uncle playing for hours on local radio station WJLB. He went on frequent renegade trips into the city’s abandoned buildings with his grandma “Gigi,” who would often drop him off at late-night techno destination The Works. Known for sets drenched with vocal-laden, booty-shaking rippers, this purveyor of all things acid is heavily inspired by the immersive, wormhole dancefloors of Interdimensional Transmissions, and artists like Carlos Souffront, Erika, and BMG. Other influences on his music include the classic sounds of Detroit techno, motown, and jazz, ‘70s punk rock, Gene on Earth’s Limousine Dreams label, and LCD Soundsystem. On warmup duty we have none other than THE Joey Kilona (@joeykilona ). Born and raised on the three rivers of Pittsburgh, Joey Kilona has established himself as a DJ playing in underground venues across North and South America. Locally, Joey is known as a co-founder of the dance party and collective, Transit. When on decks, his sounds are hypnotic and undulating ranging from electro to techno to acid house and all that falls in between. Persona residents @daveclevr and @repeat.0ff will set the mood early in the night. Lineup: 9-11p: Persona Residents 11-12a: Joey Kilona 12-2a: Ashton Swinton $15 cash at the door ATM on site

Jaguar is back on Good Friday (4/3) with a very special guest, @__bbmmgg__ ‼️ Brendan M Gillen is the founder of cult label Interdimensional Transmissions (@ithqdetroit ), a central figure in Ectomorph (@ectomorphit ), and a legendary DJ and live act under his moniker BMG. His 25 year musical vision and near encyclopedic musical knowledge have led him to be one of the key figures and visionaries in contemporary dance music. His parties (most famously but not limited to No Way Back and Return to the Source) are the greatest contemporary manifestation of the Detroit party continuum that reaches back to the parties that formed Detroit’s underground roots. A master weaver of true psychedelic musical tapestry, BMG has a way of making the strange familiar and the familiar strange. Expect the unexpected. Catch @djazrael_ warming up the decks with their signature blend of raw, hypnotic techno. Persona residents will bookend the night. Set times: 9-10: Persona residents 10-11: Azrael 11-1: BMG 1-2: Persona residents $15 cash (atm on site)

Shoutout to everyone that made that chilly February night such a blast, especially our guests ICY PISCES and KWANG who filled in last minute! 🙏🏻❤️ This March, we welcome the massive sound of duo Nic Baker from across the Commonwealth!!! Nic Baker operates at the intersection of techno, Baltimore club, footwork, and electro—pulling from underground dance traditions while pushing toward a modern, forward-leaning edge. The project emphasizes rhythm over polish, favoring punchy drums, syncopated patterns, and relentless momentum. No filler-just pressure. Residents will warm up the dance floor before what’s bound to be one of the highest energy sets we’ve had yet. SEE YOU THERE PARTY PEOPLE

HEY PARTY PEOPLE Unfortunately, our headliner for tonight got stuck at the airport as flights heading out of Berlin yesterday and today were cancelled due to weather. 💔We will be working to get Jensen Interceptor in the Burgh ASAP!! We were looking forward to this one for a long while, and we know some of you were stoked. Stay tuned. However, the party must go on!!! We’re adding the homies of KWANG to the bill, and we still have ICY PISCES bringing the bass. We’re reducing the ticket price to $10 for tonight due to the last minute change! ❤️ SEE YOU ON THE DANCE FLOOR.

Residents night was an absolute blast, but we’re ready to crank it up a notch at February’s Jaguar with none other than the unstoppable electro innovator Jensen Interceptor!! We’ve been looking forward to this one for months now. To make this party even more special, we invited local bass-lover Icy Pisces to join the residents in opening up the night.
Jensen Interceptor is the moniker of Australian-born, Berlin-based producer Mikey Melas, a pivotal figure in modern electro. His sound is an uncompromising hybrid of classic Detroit electro and raw acid techno, overlaid with rhythmic influences from EBM, Krautrock, and post-punk. This potent mix is forged with a singular, physical purpose: to energize and dominate dance floors. His reputation as a devastating live performer is proven by his history of tearing apart venues at renowned events like Dimensions, Tresor, and Nuits Sonores.

His influence is underscored by the wholehearted endorsements of iconic artists like Aphex Twin, Helena Hauff, and Dave Clarke. Jensen Interceptor operates as a deadeye composer for the dance floor: a seismic bass bomber and hyper-reliable floor steersman whose safe, yet uncompromising, bet is always to strike hard and strike sure.
ICY PISCES is a multi-dimensional sonic experience hailing from ‘The Crossroads of the World’, Pittsburgh’s Hill District. Join ICY for an open format adventure including juke, ghetto house, club music, heavy bass and anything else that’ll get that booty pawpin. The PISCES has been an underground treasure in Pittsburghs DIY scene spanning nine years of intentional space making and booty shaking ‘tween theses three rivers. ‘Dancefloors are sanctuaries’ and ICY PISCES’ hard grooves and dedication to bass will show you the way. 🧊

To bring our first full year of Jaguar to a close, we welcome two local DJs known for classy selections and sexy mixes. Between Clark Price and Big Cashew, we will be taken on a sonic journey through all flavors of techno. Clark Price is co-founder of the Honcho collective and member of the Queer Fam Fund initiative. With an ambition to uplift his peers, creating visibility for all in our community has become a fervent goal for both himself and Honcho. As a resident at Hot Mass, Clark owes his sound to the club’s unforgettable late night atmosphere. His signature is deep percussion and swirling, spacey techno.

Big Cashew is born and raised in Pittsburgh and has been crate digging in record stores since he was 5 years old. Expect a high quality selection of Detroit techno, electro, Miami bass, and more.

Persona residents will open the night. Let’s prep for 2026 with a bang!!
