@repdexteror introduced an amendment to Republicans’ SAVE Act that would stop the bill from being implemented unless we could guarantee that no eligible married women be denied the right to vote.
Republicans blocked it. Wonder why 🤔
Civil rights and workers’ rights are inextricably intertwined. I’m grateful to stand shoulder to shoulder with labor leaders here in Alabama fighting against voter disenfranchisement.
We’re going to keep fighting—together. Stay loud!
I’m in Montgomery, Alabama, today to stand with my colleagues against the attack on representation spreading across this nation. The fight for our democracy starts in the South, but must be fought in every state across this nation.
We will not give in. We will fight back.
Access to the ballot box is the bedrock of our democracy—and my conversation with @repscfigures today made that clearer than ever.
Watch this video to hear about the gutting of the Voting Rights Act, how redistricting is harming our southern communities, and what we can do to fight back against corruption.
The Trump administration has consistently prioritized the interests of Big Oil over everything else. Watch as @nrdems call out how the administration’s corruption has spiked energy costs, eliminated good-paying American jobs, and harmed our communities.
Life as a member of Congress is full of meaningful conversations, chaos, and occasional silly moments. Watch my recent YouTube video to join me for three eventful days in Washington, D.C.
We must hold Republicans accountable for enabling Trump's reckless, illegal war. This war has cost thousands of lives and spiked prices of everything from gas to groceries. Progressive Caucus members have introduced 10 War Powers Resolutions to force Republicans to answer for it.
Oregonians are paying an average of $5.35 a gallon for gas.
Instead of centering the American people, the administration is driving up costs and doing nothing to end this reckless war.
Today, the House has an opportunity to act. I will be voting yes on a War Powers Resolution, because Americans deserve relief and peace. Stay loud.
Americans want national parks. Not a ballroom most will never get to use. Yesterday, I asked Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum if he had ever stood up to Trump for cutting a billion from national parks while spending the same amount on a ballroom. He refused to answer. I think that speaks for itself.
90% of Americans support our national parks while they oppose Trump’s ballroom by a 2-to-1 margin. Yet this administration is ready to spend $1 billion on a ballroom most Americans will never use, while cutting $1 billion from our parks.
I asked Secretary Burgum a simple question: When is it enough? How many park rangers need to lose their jobs before he stands up to protect the people and public lands he is supposed to serve?
