Donald Trump Jr.’s firm invested in a small rare earth startup last August. Three months later, his father’s Pentagon gave that same company $620 million in taxpayer money — the biggest loan of its kind ever. The company had 30 employees and the loan was worth more than double what the entire company was valued at.
Today Ranking Member @repdexteror forced a vote to subpoena Donald Trump Jr. to testify under oath about the deal. Ranking Member @rephuffman backed her up. Republicans, whoever, voted to protect Don Jr. and shield him from any scrutiny. they even shut down the hearing to protect this absurd corruption.
@RepHuffman : "You want to put his name on coins and buildings and park passes. You want to penalize people who cover up this shrine to Donald Trump. We take an oath to the Constitution. It seems all of you took an oath to Donald Trump."
For over two decades, America the Beautiful passes featured winning photos from a public contest celebrating our national parks. The Trump administration scrapped that tradition and plastered Trump's face on the pass instead. When visitors started covering his image with stickers, the Department of Interior changed its rules to void any 'altered' passes and penalize them.
Ranking Member Huffman called out what's really happening: an administration turning public lands into a loyalty test.
For over half a century, the Endangered Species Act has protected our plants and wildlife from permanent extinction on planet Earth. This includes the bald eagle and the whooping cranes that have long called New Mexico home.
We’re now two days from Congress recessing for the holiday, and the GOP is trying to gut the ESA, alongside the National Environmental Policy Act, and after a vote last week to gut the Clean Water Act. This is Project 2025 in action, and we are fighting back—because protecting our public lands, waters, and wildlife is not negotiable!
That's an industrial drilling rig breaking ground on Donald Trump's 250-foot vanity arch, on federal land looming over Arlington National Cemetery, where 400,000 American servicemembers are buried.
Yesterday, I asked Interior Secretary Doug Burgum about this project under oath in the Natural Resources Committee. He swore there wasn't a project. Not even a proposal. Just a discussion.
@RepHuffman standing in front of what's actually happening.
A federal judge warned this administration not to break ground while litigation is pending. Veterans and military families are in court right now to stop it. Trump is moving forward anyway, the same way he plowed through the East Wing demolition: no permission, no process, no respect for the law or the people who pay for it.
Families across the country are getting crushed by the cost of gas, groceries, and rent, and Trump's response is to spend their tax dollars building a monument to himself on top of a cemetery.
We see what they're doing. We're not going to let them get away with it.
I got to teach Trump’s “Energy Czar” Interior Secretary Doug Burgum about an exciting new technology he clearly didn’t know about.
It’s called a battery.
A $1 billion for a Ballroom, $10 billion for vanity projects in DC, $15 million for an arch in front of Arlington Cemetery veterans oppose.
Meanwhile—they are proposing to cut over $1 billion in tribal programs, eviscerating tribal housing, education, water and other basic programs, while opening sacred sites like Chaco Canyon. How can they defend this?
They can’t. Because, it’s indefensible.
90% of Americans support our national parks while they oppose Trump’s ballroom by a 2-to-1 margin. Yet this administration is ready to spend $1 billion on a ballroom most Americans will never use, while cutting $1 billion from our parks.
I asked Secretary Burgum a simple question: When is it enough? How many park rangers need to lose their jobs before he stands up to protect the people and public lands he is supposed to serve?
🚨 @RepHuffman to Trump's Interior Secretary: "This is the most nakedly corrupt administration in American history."
"You have treated our public lands & waters like assets on a corporate balance sheet so that billionaires, foreign companies, & political donors can profit."
The Trump Administration DOGE’d 4,000 National Parks Staff & now wants to cut 25% of the NPS budget.
Peak hiking season is right around the corner for @olympic_nps .
Tomorrow – I’ll ask Secretary Burgum how he expects to keep WA’s parks open & safe for the millions of annual visitors while slashing our funding.
What’s Going On In The House?
Many of you have asked what Congress is doing, so I’m going to start sharing each week what they’re up to.
Republicans are trying to pass a Reconciliation Bill to fund ICE, CBP, DHS and slip in $1B for the White House ballroom construction.
Cabinet members are testifying to defend their budgets at committee hearings. This week Interior Secretary Doug Burgum is testifying on why he wants to make cuts to NPS, Fish & Wildlife and more.
DOE Secretary Linda McMahon will be testifying on eliminating her entire department as well as cutting billions from programs that help disadvantaged kids get to college.

Trump’s 2027 budget is bad for our Public Lands. He wants to:
🌲Cut 27% of the Forest Service Heritage & Wilderness program.
🌲Cut 64% from Forest Service trail maintenance & construction
🌲Cut $18M & zeros out program to provide funding for local orgs to manage cohesive rivers, trails, and conservation.
🌲Cut 47% of the Bureau of Land Management’s recreation infrastructure access improvements and permitting modernizations.
Happy Earth Day! Here's what Trump and Republicans spent the last year doing to the places that belong to you.
They handed millions of acres of public land to corporations. They fired thousands of park rangers and forest workers. They sold sacred tribal land to foreign mining corporations. And they gutted the agencies that were supposed to hold them accountable and keep our air and water clean and healthy.
And every one of those decisions ended with higher costs for every American.
We're fighting back because you deserve better.
