Snow Day Grand Ole Opry! Because of weather conditions in Nashville this unprecedented Saturday Night broadcast of the Grand Ole Opry aired from the @wsmradio studio in the Roy Acuff house.

As a peripheral player in the #StoneFox5 (and the only one with snow tires) I had the oprytunity to join the show on rhythm playing a very special borrowed guitar from the Opry archives - Little Jimmy Dickens’ 1937 Gibson Super 400! @chrisscruggsofficial played a Martin 000-45 that belonged to Merle Haggard, and @adamhaynes4 kicked off the show with Sally Goodin on the first fiddle Roy Acuff ever played on the show. @rhondavincent and her band knocked the first block out of the park and then slid down the road to the #SPBGMA awards show but not before enlisting Chris to make sure this Opry Broadcast had some dancing!

We stayed the night in the @opry dressing rooms (no ghosts encountered, though that would have been cool) and de-iced and got home safely this morning. Pretty much the coolest day ever and this country music nerd is going to be geeking for years to come.

Another day, another musician I am thrilled was on @linenofwords 🤩 Grace van’t Hof
@renofour is an absolute all-star of a human. They play with @chrisjonesgrass , @thevelvetboys , @the_boblo_islanders@chrisscruggsofficial and more! When I first got to Michigan, I met Grace because I was staying at their house while I looked for a place of my own. The first day I was there I realized their dog Lefty had a mohawk, and that’s when I knew I was going to like Grace 🤣
Grace is a great singer, ukelele and banjo player, and I got them to sing some parts on a bunch of the songs, especially “Bow and Balance.” They blend magically with me and Lindsay in that song :) The grocery lists at the beginning of “Taking Elevators” owe a special thank you to the wonderfully funny list of items Grace freestyled on.
They also are amazing at art- they design posters and album art professionally! What can’t they do?!
