My new single ‘Trenches’ featuring Liam Bailey and @_john.parish_ is out today. It’s my favourite song that I ever wrote. Dealing with issues that seemed harder than most to get onto paper. It features the wonderful vocals of Liam Bailey and the magic of a hero of mine, John Parish. Produced by my long time collaborator and friend @ohsnapitsthepurist mixed by @bobby_kulprit and mastered by @jlaportamasters .

It’s been a year since we released my last single which got played on @bbc6music loads of times and saw me work with one of my musical heroes.
Well, I’ve been sitting on loads of new music and now I’m no longer home schooling my lad, I’ve found a new lease of life with the time I have to write.
A new album is half ready.
We are waiting on some very exciting features and already have some big ones sorted.
It’s been a while, and I can’t wait to unleash the new stuff.

As my new song ‘Trenches’ is out on Friday 6th September and it features such talented and notable artists @liambailey.music and @_john.parish_ . Today is a good day to highlight one of my favourite features @ragnboneman on the song ‘Porridge’, which came out 3 years ago on this day. It was released on a single with ‘Kelly had a seizure’ featuring @officialkoolkeith and a remix, which featured @skinnymanmudfamily and @dirtydike . All produced by @ohsnapitsthepurist and @mudinmymalbec . My new single is out on September 6th. It took guts to write a song that got inside the mind of my Dad, longing for his own Dad. I’ve often longed for the advice, counsel and love that his death took away from me. He was 9 months old when his own Father died in WW2, just 23 years of age. I can’t imagine the longing he must have felt. I was lucky to have my Dad around for a few years, so at least someone taught me how to be a man, whilst letting me be a child. This song in someway captures his loss, his feelings, his own war in his head.
My debut album featured the theme of my loss many times. The words and pain were real and time away gave me hours to perfect the schemes on paper. That’s why I think so many quality artists like Rag’n’Bone Man, Jason Williamson, Atmosphere and others chose to work with me when they heard the music. Most didn’t even want any money.
This single is the result of going deeper into my psyche. Pulling out pain and laying it bare. I’m so proud to have one of heroes on it, John Parish, who took me into his studio and worked his magic touch. It also features the very talented Liam Bailey and is mixed by the legendary Rob Kirwan (U2, PJ Harvey, Nine Inch Nails) and is produced and structured by my long time collaborator and friend The Purist.
I’m so proud of this record. And I can’t wait for you all to hear it.

1 year ago I released the most brutally honest record of my life. It was a cathartic experience, an almost shedding of the skin. It broke down my transition from rich, ego driven dealer to love-oriented, meditative, open-minded soul. I left nothing out. I gave everything. It was a worrying time as I was revealing a vulnerability that I was always too afraid to show. Luckily it was very well received and has built a platform for me to spring from. I am so grateful to everyone who helped sell out the vinyl, all those who have supported the music and I am most grateful for my fans. Thanks to @ohsnapitsthepurist and @mudinmymalbec for believing in me. 10 months or so ago, I released an album.
It was an almost cathartic experience.
It was born out of poetry and remorse.
I felt I had a story to tell and something made me tell it.
It featured Sleaford Mods Rag’n’Bone Man Kool Keith Atmosphere Thomas Jules and others. It also a spawned a single with a remix featuring Skinnyman and Dirty Dike.
It has been a success.
