I presented the slideshow projection “…in a pool painted black” featuring images from my upcoming body of work.
I was honoured to have @malougistics for a special sound performance accompanying the piece.
As part of the evening I joined @amelia_abraham and @prishita_eloise in a conversation around the importance of visual documentation of queer nightlife, celebrating their respective releases “Sex, Clubs, Dissent” and “Roses for Hedone”.

Join me on Friday 24 April ‘…in a Pool Painted Black’, at this month’s V&A Friday Late: Lost Queer Venues
I’ll be showing new work in Room 25 of the iconic South Kensington museum for one night only, 6:30 to 9:30PM.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a special sound performance by Malou van der Veld at 8:45 PM.
As part of the programme of the evening I’ll also be in conversation with authors Amelia Abraham and Prishita Maheshwari-Aplin to celebrate Amelia’s new release ‘Sex, Clubs, Dissent’ and discuss the role of photography in queer nightlife.
The talk will take place in the Photography Centre, Room 98, 8:00-8:45 PM.

Our next Ménage à Trois is with the artist and photographer Dani d’Ingeo (!)
D’Ingeo is an Italian photographer based in London whose observational work captures the strata of queer city life, often from deep inside the club. In their pictures, there is often a profound tenderness that speaks to an intimate community and layers of care and congregation – from fleeting encounters in dark corners to hazy days on hot beaches.
