The mind blowing boom of the billion-dollar influencer marketing industry has created life changing opportunities and dream-come-true jobs for millions of people around the world over the last years. I’m one of them.
Influencer marketing isn’t only what we see on the grid; often it’s weeks of back and forth emails, pitching ideas, discussing deliverables, following up, brainstorming creative concepts, pulling insights, negotiating rates, suggesting solutions, finding common ground, amending content, executing campaigns and most importantly, parting on good terms so we can do it all over again.

We’ve had a lot of interest in working with us recently. It made me dig deep and think about representing talent, about my day-to-day job and the industry overall.
Because when you take away the inbox, the paperwork, the negotiations, the brand calls, the outreach and the logistics, you find a human being on the other side of a whatsapp message.
And this person has to be someone who is ~
~ comfortable away from the spotlight; they might be pulling the strings but the cameras are not on them
~ happy for other people’s successes and always there to celebrate other people’s wins; most often on the good days, sometimes on the bad days
~ able to go from a business partner to a good friend in the space of a voice note; they understand when you need help or space, they protect you (sometimes from yourself)
Not everyone can find peace behind the scenes but for me, it’s always been home. Happy Monday everyone, shout if you’re a fellow talent agent, A x

A short story about a midlife woman’s journey from product discovery to purchase. It started with interest, quickly moved to hesitation and then followed several next steps and pauses.
