Medal Monday is a bigger deal this week.
I got my @wmmajors Six Star medal, and I knew that it would be an emotional moment.
What I didnāt expect was to be crying on the shoulder of a stranger, Jack Fleming, the race director of the Boston Marathon.
Iām thankful to everyone in my circle who got me here; my training partners and pacers (@jen.arias37 who filmed this), my team and coaches (Joe, Jenn, and Nih), my wife and bestfriend who both cheer me on around the world, all of the supporters who like and comment and send me positive energy here on instagram and IRL, my momma for nurturing me for 34 years, Tim & Bandit for the inspo, and Caedryn & Nike for the opportunity to run in Chicago. And if I didnāt name you itās still all love and appreciation š¤š½
Most people think creatine is just for the gym.
Meanwhile Iām using it for half marathon weekend.
For the #RBCBrooklynHalf , I used Createās Creatine Plus Electrolyte drink mix the whole way through:
1. pre-race prep
2. in my handheld during the race
3. post-race hydration
Each sachet packs 5g creatine + 800mg electrolytes, helping with hydration, focus, recovery, and staying strong across 13.1 miles.
Safe to say it did the job⦠because we got my wife under 2 hours on a warm, sunny Brooklyn morning !
Grab yours at trycreate.co
Breaking up the grid with a non-running photo even though I ran a half marathon today. This was me at an event thingy the other day where I practiced taking photos on a camera and not an iPhone. (Iām lowk not good and just happy to be here)
šš½āāļøš½ #RunClubsOfNY episode 49: Black Distance (@blackdistancenyc )
Black Distance meets every Tuesday at 6am at McCarren Park Track, with the workout starting at 6:30 sharp.
What started as strangers gravitating towards each other because of shared backgrounds has grown into a collective of Black Distance runners working towards big goals together. While they donāt consider themselves a run club, the group aims to recreate that competitive track & field energy many miss after high school and college running.
There was way too much to fit into one video - from Kwami leading a 28-second 200m rep to mile repeats hovering around 5 minutes. Simply put: this group likes to throw down.
Give them a follow, and if you can hang, meet them at the track.
Instagram is cool because I can just post myself running to some 2006 Young Jeezy and dudes will just comment
ādamn son whereād you find this?ā
got this reel idea from @wally.otr and footy from @xavi.nyc
Failing forward. I havenāt hit a marathon goal in years.
Iām getting faster, but always fading towards the end of a race and getting positive splits.
Iāve been self-coached for my last 3 seasons and I donāt think I can wing it anymore. I want some certainty and predictability.
Any coaches out there that have successfully trained a bigger runner to a 2:59 or faster?

Crotona Park 5K is always a goody! 19:06 got me 2nd place overall and a 17 second PR š
Racing is so much fun and has become a hobby outside of marathon training blocks. My wife is getting back to it and has been speeding up.
I also paced the 5:40 mile group at Icahn Stadium on Friday night just for the chance to run in spikes.
Itās feeling like a bicarb summer š

Can my wife name runners? Trivia round 3
Okay so she knows things about these runners but maybe not the best with names. Still proud. Still love her.
How many did you get right?

just a dude posted up at a womenās race handing out gels like itās my full-time job.
10/10 would scream encouragement again.
kudos to all the runners and shoutout to @thefeed for providing a ton of Amacx gels so I can fuel the community.
