Care4Calais is 10 years old! 🎈 We’re so proud to be part of the incredible Care4Calais community, which has continuously provided vital supplies, services, and support to displaced people in Northern France for the last decade. To celebrate, they’re raising £10,000 to kickstart the next decade of grassroots action and advocacy. ❤️ If you’d like to support their campaign, you can make a donation via their website. Here are a few of our favourite pictures from our work with Care4Calais – please do share your own too!

A big thank you to all at Calais Light, the Inspiration behind @refyoume We are so sad to learn that @calais_light are closing at the end of this December. Your amazing work inspired our founder Emma to start her own volunteering organisation after meeting Mary in Calais 🇫🇷 back in 2018, over a casual breakfast chat, Mary’s encouragement and mentoring sparked the idea that became RefYouMe. To everyone in the Calais Light community: you know how powerful it is to come together and make a difference. You’re always welcome to join our community and trips as we continue to follow in your footsteps. Thank you, Mary and all the Calais Lighters, for everything you’ve done ❤️ With love, Emma & the RefYouMe Team

1000 hot drinks a day needs a lot of sugar - please help! 📣☕ Later this November, a volunteering team from RefYouMe will be back in Calais supporting the @ Refugee Community Kitchen, who are resuming their much needed ‘Hot Drinks’ service during the harsh winter months. The RCK team will be making and handing out 1000+ cups of tea per day to help refugees stay warm this winter – and they urgently need more sugar. Sugar is a much-needed food source in hot drinks primarily because it provides immediate, easily absorbable calories for energy and offers significant psychological comfort in times of crisis and displacement. If you’re able to donate bags of sugar (1kg or higher), we’d be so grateful. ❤️ Send a DM and we’ll let you know how to get your donations to us (we are travelling out on the 27th of November). Or, you can make a donation to RCK through our website, link in our bio. Thank you! 🙏

Help us support refugees by sending a financial donation to Calais ❤️ We'll be heading out on our next volunteering trip this weekend. If you'd like us to take a donation on your behalf, simply visit our website! We'll then give 100% of your donation directly to the charities supporting refugees on the ground such as Refugee Community Kitchen and Care4Calais. 🇫🇷 Thank you for helping us make a difference!

If the idea of volunteering in Calais makes you a bit nervous, Alison’s story is one to read. ❤️ “I was sat in a car park providing some basic English lessons to a group of keen, friendly young Sudanese lads. Meeting them and hearing their stories and hopes for the future and feeling their gratitude for the kindness shown them soon dispelled any worries I had about volunteering here.” 📍 You can read Alison’s experience in full via the link in our bio.

Last month, we joined Clockwise Bristol to inspire more people to use their corporate volunteering days with RefYouMe. Here we are listening to @tylerxhope and @stinkinson share their experiences of volunteering with Care4Calais and the Refugee Community Kitchen. Thanks to everyone who came! ❤️
