Been thinking a lot about what Sade said about taking time away; that taking time away is essential for creative longevity and authenticity, that stepping back lets you realize why you’re doing what you do, and actually want to do it… instead of just moving out of habit or fear of losing what you’ve built.
I’ve really been feeling that lately. Thought I was just hibernating from winter, but I feel myself settling somewhere between deep rest and resetting.
I won’t disappear completely, I have a few shows on the horizon this late spring into summer.. More soon.

I don’t have any photos of myself from 2016 (and if you do… no you don’t). I’m not super sentimental when it comes to keeping photos, but I am when I notice the way the shadows of birds passing by dance in the light in my studio during golden hour, how long my hair has grown after cutting it during a time when I was trying to regain a sense of control, and noticing how baggy my eyes have become from working hard toward living a life that’s truly my own.
It feels like a privilege to be here now, having the time to stop and notice the ordinary. And in this realization, I’m learning to love capturing these subtle daily moments that will become tender to look back on years from now.
I hope everyone is finding little moments of peace in their lives, and discovering those fleeting pieces of sentimentality worth holding onto 🕊️🤍
