#latepost So last month Shar & I ventured out to Birmingham, Alabama because we got invited to the sidewalk film festival. Her short film ,Burnt Orange, got accepted into the film festival. Being from LA we have attended our share of film festivals, but I’m going to have to give it up to the organizers @sidewalkfilm because they really pulled out all the stops for the film makers. From the swag bags, to the provided transportation shuttles, tasty lunches, brunches, dinners and amazing films we watched, the crew made it so easy for us to have such a good time. The southern charm was in full effect and we met some awesome people. Congrats to @imeetuk for your film @outdoorschoolmovie . It brought tears to my eyes and you definitely deserved that award. Special thanks to @davidnastcole for the laughs, the brothers @voltronprinting for sharing your stories & @noahglenn for your film knowledge. Thank you @saywhatfoo for having me be your plus one. Keep doing what you’re doing. This was the kind of trip that was needed. It inspired me to keep pushing forward thru this crazy industry. Also thank you for turning me onto @thesummeriturnedpretty . It was fun to binge watch the first 2 seasons with you. So cheers to all the creatives out there. I don’t work in film as much as I like, but since I was given the opportunity to work with the 🐐 goats, Eddie Murphy, Jerry Bruckheimer, @gwendolynstukelj , I had to take on the challenge. I learned so much more about handling 100’s of background, aging, dying, and how stunts are preformed. It was a hard gig, but oh so worth it. #costumes #onsetlife 🎥💕

So I hardly ever do posts on Insta, but I’m doing this because I felt like I was to the point that my hair was just weighing me down, and was becoming a hazard. It was getting caught around door handles, my seat belt, it was choking my neck, to say the least it was time to take a little weight off these shoulders. Thank you Henry @voidofhair for trusting me with your sheers to make the first cut. It kind of felt empowering and I’m into it. So I was finally able to watch the Insecure season finale and it had me in tears. I was blessed to work on this show as a Production Assistant, left to work on the LWord Generation Q to get my union days, then came back on the show as an IATSE 705 union Costumer. Issa’s story telling was always so relatable and I loved every bit of it. My sister and I use to go to these “sip” events in Inglewood that Issa held in a basement when Insecure was just starting up. I knew back then that she was doing amazing things and that I wanted to work with her. A few years passed and then I met @satarog who ended up being the Costume Supervisor on Insecure. By the time the final season of Insecure was going to start, Sataro and I already did two jobs together back to back and then he asked me if I wanted to do Insecure. I was like hell yeah. Its crazy how things work out and how much I have learned. I just want to take a moment to thank not only @issarae , @satarog and @shionat for her amazing costumes, but the rest of cast and crew for having me come on board. My heart hurts that this show has come to an end but am blessed to have been a small part of this amazing show. 🙏🏽#insecure #finalseason #costumes #thatsawraponinsecure😢

So I’m sure we all know 2020 was one hell of a year. It had me on a roller coaster of emotions that left me feeling mentally, physically, and financially, drained. One thing that I am grateful for is my health and my well being... in which I need to give much thanks to my other half Darryl, aka @dadel0 for keeping me sane. I must admit I am truly honored to wake up and see this... #1 Movie on demand🤘🏾I worked on Bill & Ted as a costume assistant and it was such an awesome experience to work with Keanu and Alex. They both were such great people and the rest of the crew was just as amazing. Bill & Ted is not only on demand, but it’s playing at the drive in theaters too. So if your in LA check it out at Mission Tiki...It truly is such a funny, charming, good hearted movie, which is perfect for these trying times.
