Today we hear from newly minted 2:09 Man @reedfisch ! We spoke to him before he flew to Seville and broke 2:10, to hear about his experience representing the US in Tokyo, as well as the things he's learned along the way in his spectacularly consistent marathon career. A good one to tune in! Thank you tomour partners @precisionfandh & @wahoofitnessofficial for their support in bringing these stories to you!

2:09:47 at @maratondesevilla ! My first trip under 2:10 for my 10th career marathon: 1. 2:24:48, 2020 Olympic Trials 2. 2:14:41, 2021 Chicago, 9th 3. 2:10:54, 2022 Boston 4. 2:15:23, 2022 NYC, 10th 5. 2:11:34, 2024 Olympic Trials, 9th 6. 2:10:14, 2024 Chicago 7. 2:12:40, 2025 Boston 8. 2:15:17, 2025 World Championships, 28th 9. 2:16:53, 2025 NYC 10. 2:09:47, 2026 Sevilla It’s felt like I’ve had a sub-2:10 marathon in my legs since 2022, but despite a handful of top 10 finishes at Majors and the Olympic Trials, a 2:0X eluded me. I’m a big believer that consistency leads to breakthroughs. And while I won’t call a <:30 PR a breakthrough, I’m hopeful that dipping under the 2:10 barrier will serve as a mental breakthrough. Coming off my fourth marathon in 10 months, and the busiest past 12 months of racing since maybe college? I’m looking forward to a nice break as Christine and I get ready to welcome Baby Boy in a couple weeks. Thanks, as always, to @c_thorn31 , @tinmanelite , @adidasrunning , @precisionfandh , @mjhuns5 , @joshcox , my teammates, family, and friends who help support me in every sense of the word 🫶

¡Race Week! Headed to Spain to race my first European marathon on Sunday, 2/15 at @maratondesevilla ! This will be my 10th marathon (woah!) and my fourth in the last 10 months. Despite my relative experience at the distance, I’ve never really gone for a flat, fast, paced, time trial-esque marathon before. I think I’m in strong shape and ready to knock some time off my current PB. Time to get after it, then eat some paella! 🎥: @max_mcnerney

I’ve spent the past couple of weeks watching what’s happening in my home state of Minnesota with increasing heartbreak. I’ve always been proud to be Minnesotan, but I’ve never felt more proud to be Minnesotan than I have recently. But while I’ve never felt more proud to be Minnesotan, I’m not sure I’ve ever felt less proud to be American. Children being used as bait to detain family members, violently detaining peaceful protesters, and now two citizens murdered on the streets: Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. I firmly believe that treating others with humanity should not, and cannot become a partisan issue. America has never been great because of our homogeneity or our fear of outsiders, but because of our ability to overcome division and stand up for what’s right and moral. If you’re feeling helpless, scared, and angry, here are four things you can join me in to make your voice heard and help Minnesota: 1. Make a donation. I’ll be donating to @communityaidnetworkmn , but I’ve added a link to multiple options in my bio. Minneapolis needs our support to care for their neighbors. 2. Speak up and speak out. Have hard conversations, hold people accountable, call your elected officials, protest peacefully where possible. Let it be known that we can’t let this hatred and violence become commonplace. 3. Vote. When it comes time for midterms and beyond, show up. Show up and decide that voting to show others humanity is more important than voting to incrementally lower your tax burden. 4. Read. Reading is one of the oldest forms of protest. Some of my favorites that feel especially relevant: “1984” by Orwell (shocker!), “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl, and “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. #mnstrong

60:54 at yesterday’s Houston Half Marathon! I ran exactly 60:54 at last year’s Houston Half Marathon, so if anyone’s having déjà vu, I’m right there with you. While I would have loved to have found an extra second out there on the course to make it an official PR, there are quite a few positives I’m taking from this: - From 2020 to 2025, my PR was 61:37. I’d begun to wonder if a sub-61 wasn’t in the cards anymore. I’ve now ran sub-61 twice in back to back years. - This year’s 60:54 felt MUCH more “comfortable” than last year’s. I felt in control and was able to contribute at the front of my group vs. hanging on for dear life. - I kicked well. Something I’ve been trying to work on constantly in my career is closing hard and working to win the group I’m in. I did both of those things on Sunday. - I’m about a month behind where I was entering 2025, having raced Tokyo and NYC last fall vs Chicago the year before. Grateful to be feeling healthy and returning to training well, eyes on a marathon in February 👀 📷: @kevmofoto

Through countless training hours and three full marathons, including one in Tokyo racing for Team USA, @reedfisch embraced the unknown this year. As he shared: “2025 was a year of trying new things… I took some risks, and they didn't all pay off, but I challenged myself in new ways that have made me a tougher athlete and person heading into 2026.” We're proud to have played a small part in keeping him hydrated throughout his pursuits this year.

Still buzzing from TCS NYC Marathon weekend! Every marathon leaves me with memories, no matter the result. And few marathons will leave me with as many memories as this year’s @tcsglobal @nycmarathon : - Getting to meet @kipchogeeliud on the start line - Running the first half of the race in stride with @joe_klecker in his debut (Go Royals) - Crossing the finish line as one of almost 60,000 finishers at the world’s biggest marathon. That second video’s an accurate depiction of how fast I was moving the last 5K. I spent those last few miles of the race alternating between a pain grimace and a big smile. There’s really nothing like the crowds and magic of this race. I’ll always be grateful for moments like these.

20th at @nycmarathon yesterday. The legs felt great…until they didn’t! I knew racing NYC seven weeks after Tokyo World Champs was going to be an experiment. I was feeling controlled and confident until about mile 16, where a big surge from the field spat me out the back. From 16-21, I was able to stay in my rhythm and had some confidence I could claw my way back through the field. By 22, the legs were shot and I knew it was going to be a “just make it home” kind of day. I’m proud of the way I pushed mentally in the last 10K when the body wasn’t responding, and I’m grateful that even on a “bad” day I can be top 20 in the world’s biggest marathon, but also disappointed to walk away feeling like I wasn’t able to compete to my usual standard. In the midst of that disappointment, there’s still a whole lot of appreciation for NYC. The crowds carried me home, kept me accountable, and put a smile on my face from start to finish. Congrats to all who experienced that same magic out on the course, and thanks to all those who helped make the magic by being there to support. Time to recharge the batteries after a long 2025 and be ready to rip in 2026! 📷: @zachhunter.creative
