I have spent the last week in Brazil to attend The People’s Summit and the United Nations COP30 in Belém. There are a lot of things to process. Some frustrating, some gentle, some exhausting, some empowering. But the most of them all, is hopeful and unconditional love (not because of COP30 summit, but because of the people!! The strength. The love. The determination for something better for all.) I can’t fully find all of the words to say so I figured I’d share a small handful of pictures and videos along with two different songs to paint the picture for the time being. Stay tuned for more in depth updates but for now some key take aways: 🔸there were around 1600 fossil fuel lobbyists attending (allowed because of global north industries. And zero federal US delegates officially sent) 🔸indigenous and afro voices all around the world are still not being taken serious enough 🔸classism is alive and well But also that: 🔹I was reminded of the power of love (not to sound like Celine Dion) 🔹greed is the most deadly disease on this planet 🔹everything about our earth is so worth saving. (Humans and wildlife alike) . #cop30 #thepeoplessummit #belem #brazil #climatejustice #justtransition #indigenousrights #amazon #rainforest

Today is Monday Oct 27th, and as many of you know come Nov 1st many people across the nation will be losing access to their snap benefits. This is the first time in U.S. history were a Presidential admin has made the decision to cut snap benefits due to a shutdown. This will impact roughly 42 million Americans, and about 39% of the recipients were youth. In 2023 due to snap benefits over 3 million people were able to get out of poverty situations, so we know these benefits can be helpful and benefit all people in all areas. Regardless of what state you’re in, you can go to find help.org (I will also be putting the link in my bio). When you go there, put in your zip code. You will have a list of options to select on what sort of assistance you need help with. Food, housing, health, etc. for example when you select food, you will be given an option for other food resources in your area to help get you free or low costed foods. This is a time community supports community. No judgement! You’re not alone. Sending love! Reducing Extinction is a new nonprofit project under The Bambi Fund. Reducing Extinction strives to combat the climate crises by building unique educational opportunities that help communities understand, appreciate, and reconnect with our forgotten duties as apex predators. We envision a world brought back from the brink of mass extinction events, with restored balance and harmony in the natural order around us and proper distribution of resources for all. About our Founder: Her love for the planet and all of its creatures started at the young age of three years old, and rapidly grew deeper over the years. In 5th grade, during an overnight field trip at the Vancouver Aquarium in Canada, her class slept in front of the Beluga whale exhibit. To no surprise she was the last of her peers to fall asleep, as she was completely captivated by these magnificent creatures. The burning desire to learn how to protect creatures such as these and their natural habitat sparked within her, as that unknowingly was the true beginning of her life’s purpose. Now, she is an Ocean and Environmental Activist with over a decade of work and advocacy related to climate change, wildlife handling, conservation, as well as civic engagement education under her belt. Ultimately, she has concluded that no real improvements will be made until we challenge ourselves individually & collectively by reconnecting back to our true original purpose as apex predators! Through an environmental lens, Reducing Extinction starts with learning how to heal what we have broken on a global scale. A movement that helps redefine the future of our planet with pioneering insights and actionable solutions for climate change. The start to our journey would have not been possible without the support of our fiscal sponsor, @thebambifund , our website creator, @mixedchange , and our first youth climate collaboration partner @azaanhpiforequity . Follow @reducingextinction and Stay Tuned for more to come in 2026.

Every third Friday of May is National Endangered species day. Today (and everyday), we must raise awareness and use our voices for those who lack the privilege. A species becomes classified as endangered when between 50-70% of its population is declined over a specific period of time. Today, over 48,000 species have been officially classified as a threatened endangered species. And the leading reason for that is unchecked human activity and reckless greed. It is vital that we have elected officials in power that want to protect our natural ecosystems, wildlife, and planet. It is not acceptable to accept anything less. We share this great planet with species of all kinds who ALL deserve a chance at survival. We are not above them. We are all one! Getting started is tough, especially for individuals from historically excluded communities. But through our paid work and in partnership with @thebambifund ’s Community Blooming program (a new initiative to support startup community-based organizations), we’re able to offer discounted rates or pro-bono support to impactful projects like @reducingextinction ! 🌱 Reducing Extinction is combating the climate crisis by helping communities reconnect with their natural environment and understand our interconnectedness. Their work is a perfect example of the power of community-driven solutions. We cannot create a better future without uplifting those driving changes on the frontlines! ✊🏽🌎 Huge thank you to our incredible clients whose paid work allows us to support low to no-budget organizations! 💛 #nonprofit #grassroots #community #webdesign #branddesign

As of Thursday, April 9, 2026, Emperor Penguins and Antarctic Fur Seals have been officially classified as endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The leading reason for this unfortunate update is simply linked to our climate crisis. Warming temperatures increase the decline in our sea ice which threatens all aspects of ice. Emperor Penguin chicks are literally drowning due to the fact that they do not have enough time to develop the proper waterproof feathers that protect them from the water temperatures that can get as low as 28 degree F (2 degree C). Rising temperatures also decrease many krill populations which is a key food source for seals. These are just some of the many ways our climate crisis is harming and threatening our wildlife and ecosystems. Our two polar regions act as our planets natural AC units, and the Southern Ocean is a key for helping regulate our entire earths climate! Share this information/post and stay tuned for more updates on how we can come together as one community fighting for our earth! Our lives depend on it and our wildlife relatives need as now more than ever! #reducingextinction #climatecrisis #endangered #emperorpenguin #saveourearth
