Forgot to share these from last semester! Students were tasked with creating a type specimen poster using only letterpress printing methods. Nearly all of these students were first time letterpress printers! Insane work! #letterpressprinting #letterpress
First of seven in this edition is done done. My brain was obsess with making little bundles of sticks so I cast them in turquoise colored resin and covered them in gold leaf and made a little inset for them in a slightly complicated box. The cover is based off a previous box I did and I’m glad I’m using it here again in an edition. Soon to be on display at @gallery224 in January and February and at Codex Artist Book Fair. First copy of 16,650 Days is completed after I spent the morning getting to gold leafing on the tyvek down pat. Only 7 copies of this one and a real fancy box is on deck to store it in.
Colophon printing day! This book is finally wrapping up (pictured in the back). I should hopefully have some copies bound soon. Feeling like these might be done. Approaching letterpress printing as a collage technique. Combination of reductive linoleum relief, birch veneer, plastic coated wire and photopolymer plates all printed on my SP-15.
