Creating this mural has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. As someone who was “born” and raised in Jamaica Plain, being able to give back to the neighborhood that shaped me is an honor I don’t take lightly. This project allowed me to pour years of memories, culture, and community pride onto a wall that now belongs to all of us. I am deeply grateful to Cedric Douglas
@vise_1_boston for trusting me as a partner in this vision, to Ivey Bueno
@artmakesplace and the JPNDC
@jamaicaplain_ndc for believing in our work, and to the Brewery Development Company for giving us the space—literally and figuratively—to tell JP’s story.
My appreciation also extends to my family, friends, and every single person who showed up, shared feedback, lent a hand, or simply stood with us throughout the process. Thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and heart to this honorable task. Thank you to Jake and Nesto for their photography, time, and genuine participation in bringing this project to life.
@jakebphotog @rediovision 🫡 This mural is not just a piece of art—it’s a collective effort, a reflection of community love, and a gift back to the place that raised me.
“For JP, by JP.”
