Back in January, I auditioned for the role of ‘Flirting Boy’ not knowing if I would get it. Just knowing that it’d be cool to be part of a Fringe production. Not only did I land the role, but I also got the opportunity to play a few others (Minister, Club Owner, Announcer and Promoter). Five very different roles that I knew would be tricky, but I was up for the challenge.
From getting to meet and work with other talented artists of color, to our many rehearsals at Mainline Theatre (R.I.P. 🥲), to our great six-show run at La Chapelle, I’m very grateful for this experience and curious to see what the future holds for our show. 🎬 In September of 2023, @iraqihadi met with me to pitch to me a pretty out there concept for a film. And to ask if I would star in it. I said yes. What followed became nearly two years worth of co-writing, marketing, ‘puppet coordinating’ and recruiting in order to make this the best film we possibly could. And now, #DominoPlays has officially been shot! An ambitious eight-day shoot that couldn’t have been possible without our fantastic crew (@ellie.chrtt@sebastian.pvz@j.iro.h just to name a few), @elliot.tea.o for lending the puppets a ‘hand’ and @jlepape for being an incredible scene partner! This film is certainly unlike anything else you’ve seen! I can’t wait for you all to meet Domino, Clarisse and the trio of Lorenzo, Pantaleona & Niccolo 🤎🩷♥️
