On Monday night, I locked up MainLine one last time and gave back the keys to Segals. But before I did, I spent a few hours alone in the space. I sat in my office with the heart lamp on, lied down on the floor in the MiniMain and blasted music in the MainSpace. I even danced a little. After a few hours, I touched the walls, thanked the space for all its given our community and said goodbye for now.
It’s hard to say exactly what’s next for us, but the vision is clear:
We need an indie arts hub rooted in English theatre, but open to all artistic disciplines and all kinds of people. It will be professionalized enough for the established, while affordable for independent and emerging artists. It will be an accessible space with bigger bathrooms. We will present festivals, shows and readings. There will be social events, art shows and potluck dinners. It will be the home of the Fringe. I look forward to welcoming you to the new MainLine.
Lundi soir, j’ai fermé Le MainLine une dernière fois et rendu les clés à Segals. Mais premièrement, j’ai passé quelques heures seul dans l’espace. Je me suis assise dans mon bureau avec ma lampe en forme de cœur allumée, je me suis allongée sur le sol dans le MiniMain et j’ai joué de la musique dans le Main. J’ai même dansé un peu. Après quelques heures, j’ai touché les murs, j’ai remercié l’espace pour tout ce qu’il avait apporté à notre communauté et j’ai fait mes adieux pour l’instant.
Il est difficile de dire exactement ce qui nous attend, mais la vision est claire :
Nous avons besoin d’un centre artistique indépendant ancré dans le théâtre anglais, mais ouvert à toutes les disciplines artistiques et à toutes sortes de personnes. Il sera suffisamment professionnalisé pour les artistes établis, tout en restant abordable pour les artistes indépendants et émergents. Il s’agira d’un espace accessible avec des salles de bain plus grandes. Nous présenterons des festivals, des spectacles et des lectures. Il y aura des événements sociaux, des expositions d’art et des soupers partage. Ce sera la maison du Fringe. J’ai hâte de vous accueillir dans la nouvelle MainLine.

One Too Many… raconte l’histoire de cinq personnes étrangement liées les unes aux autres. Quatre femmes. Un homme. Trois grossesses. Et aucune réponse facile. Une comédie féministe sur la réappropriation de son corps et de ses choix, avec une petite touche de drame.

DAUMAS: DEVIL'S ADVOCATE casts the audience as the jury in the trial of maverick lawyer Georges Daumas. As witnesses contradict each other and the mystery deepens, it's up to you to make a choice: guilty or not guilty? The ending depends on your decision.

10 years after the environmental crisis breached its tipping point, life on earth has reached a strange calm: the lands are poisoned, the air is toxic, but war has ended. For roommates Ari, Mouse, Tyra and Fern, their jobs in Sector 11 are showing promise. But when the new government leverages the repopulation effort as currency for access to a new clean-air community, friction begins to fill the household as the four roommates must choose between bodily autonomy and the promise of a livable world.
