This is Theo. Will be sharing more of Theo here. Since moving back to Ireland 99.8% of my time involves Theo, also 99.8% of my photo album and why my storage is always full, is Theo.
A friend said to me āyou should share more of your everyday life, let people also get to know youā. Well this is it: Music, wildlife, animals, passionate about bettering the world for marginalised people, communities & our planet, work m-f, fam time, friends time and this little poophead, Theo!
Theo is now 7 years old, weāve had him since a puppy, my mom got him by accident when her friend was getting a puppy from a lady whoās dog had puppies and she was giving away puppies for ā¬100. We were told heās a yorkie x chihuahua, weāve since discovered he is definitely more than that, with the vet describing him as āan unfortunate shapeā šš„¹ maybe some Jack Russell, Corgi, in there, who knows š¤·āāļø What we do know is he loves food, and unfortunately for him gains that weight super easily, itās too much for his little legs so heās constantly on a diet and he hates it. On the flip side he loves to dance the āsamba bumā as you enter the house, shaking his possibly Corgi/ Russell booty to say Hiii.
Heās the centre of many convos, and is my familyās WhatsApp group photo. This is Theo š¾š¾š¾

Clearning out old sets on Soundcloud and came across this set I recorded 10 years ago.
I never published it as I had no confidence in my mixing, over-analysed every transition and convinced myself it wasnāt good enough. I guess I had what I now know to be imposter syndrome as the internal narrative that was in the driverās seat. Iād sent this set privately to a handful of close friends, and even with their positive feedback, still it sat there.
Listening back last night felt emotional. Thereās a sadness when I think about that headspace - how harsh and judgmental it was - but at the same time, thereās something really beautiful in it. Itās part of the journey. I believe a familiar one for a lot of us.
This was about 2 years into DJing, and a couple of years before experimenting with harder techno. Iād started out playing tech house, deep house, melodic techno (2014), and this set sits in that transition - where things began to lean more hypnotic, more atmospheric, darker⦠more cerebral and introspective.
Looking back at the musical influences that resonated over the years, they married with lifeās experiences - relationship with the ego, shedding identities, ideologies, shadow work, defences. They shape us, of course, and Iām so grateful for that, as well as getting to meet so many beautiful people across different subcultures along the way. Every phase, theyāve reflected who I was at each point and still exist within. I titled this set āConstantly Evolvingā 10 years ago, I think thatās what I was searching for, and still am - maybe what many of us are.
In this set it features music from Alessandro Cortini, Advanced Human, Cassegrain, DJ Datch, Chapel B, Boston 168, Yuuki Sakai, RVO, Trinity (AU), Reggy Van Oers & more. Hoping I can find the old USB somewhere⦠lost all my music pre-2019 in a laptop crash (lesson learnt the hard way š ). I find the set to be emotional, tension pushing and pulling throughout, full of dark textures & atmosphere, maybe even seductive. But maybe you hear it differently.
Thereās a few more Iāve found still on private - might be time to get those out there as well.
Link in bio if you feel like taking a trip into the past.

š REDD OPHIS
Redd Ophisā connection to rhythm began with 15 years as a competitive Irish dancer, shaping her instinct for timing and groove. Outside of competitions, her teenage years were spent discovering electronic musicāburning CDs for classmates under the name āDJ T-NICEā.
After moving to London she found her place behind the decks, known for energetic, emotive sets, and supporting artists such as Blanka, GiGi FM, Setaoc Mass, Maedon, Arnaud Le Texier and more. She founded Synthapise, supporting charities through music, co-founded LGBTQIA+ collective Kollektiv Affair - later representing the group at Fabric, and holds a monthly residency with AAJA radio, featuring emerging artists.
The name Redd Ophis reflects her ethos: āReddā draws from the grounding root-chakra colour, while āOphisā references Ophiuchus, the serpent bearer of the forgotten 13th zodiacāa symbol of transformation. Together, meaning āred snake,ā it represents rooted in purpose, endlessly shedding, shifting, and transformingāboth in life and in sound.
