Last week, as part of the Melbourne Fashion Festival independent programme, we joined @hatchandmake to celebrate the launch of the Repaired by @brood.au x Australian Red Cross Shops collection, a collaboration weâre incredibly proud of.
The event was a great opportunity to come together in the beautiful HATCH + make studio and engage in a thoughtful panel discussion on reuse, repair and the power of collaboration. We were proud to have Hannah, our Environment, Social & Governance Lead at Australian Red Cross, join the panel, bringing along insights on circularity and the importance of rethinking the way we consume.
At our Australian Red Cross Shops, we see firsthand the impact that conscious consumption and garment repair can have - not only in reducing environmental pressure, but in supporting circular, communityâdriven solutions.
This event was a powerful reminder of whatâs possible when different strengths come together around a shared purpose. We hope this collaboration inspires more people to recognise the value of repair and the difference we can all make by keeping garments in use for longer.
Head to the link in our bio to explore the full Repaired by Brood collection. đ
Tomorrow, our very own Hannah will be joining a panel conversation at @hatchandmake Studios in Lilydale as part of the Melbourne Fashion Festival.
As Environment, Social & Governance Lead at Australian Red Cross, Hannah works across the organisation to embed sustainable practice, maximise social impact and drive environmental outcomes that support our humanitarian mission. She also collaborates with teams across our Australian Red Cross Shops to progress circular initiatives that bring together environmental and social outcomes - perspectives sheâll bring to the discussion.
The panel will explore the circular economy and the role of repair, alongside a showcase of the Repaired by Brood @brood.au x @redcrossau collaboration launching at the event.
If youâre in Melbourne, you wonât want to miss it. Head to the link in our bio to find out more. â¤ď¸

The holiday season can mean different things to different people. For some, it is a time of celebration and togetherness; for others, it can be a quieter or more difficult period. Wherever you find yourself, please know that you are not alone and that the humanity that connects us continues beyond any single season.
This year has brought its share of challenges, but it has also shown the strength of kindness, connection, and compassion. Across Australia, your generosityâwhether through volunteering, donating, supporting one another, or simply showing careâhas helped people feel seen, supported, and less alone.
From all of us at Australian Red Cross, we wish you a safe, restful, and meaningful holiday season, and thank you for the difference you make. â¤ď¸
Today marks 35 years of Trauma Teddies!
To celebrate this milestone, weâre shining a light on our Latin American Trauma Teddy pilot program â an inspiring initiative bringing members of Australiaâs Latin American community together to knit teddies, connect, practise English, and give back to the community.
Through shared stories, language, and laughter, these knitters are creating teddies that will soon bring warmth and reassurance to others going through difficult times. And whatâs even more special, Trauma Teddies donât only give happiness to those who receive them â they provide a sense of purpose and connection to the people putting them together.
For 35 years, Trauma Teddies have shown that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a lasting difference. Together, communities can create comfort, connection, and hope â one teddy at a time. â¤ď¸

Australian Red Cross retail shops are powered by kindness. Every warm welcome, every conversation, every sale that supports our humanitarian work is made possible by our incredible volunteers â and by the people who help bring them together.
Behind every volunteer sorting donations, styling a window display, or greeting a customer with a smile, thereâs a volunteer manager playing a crucial role in making it all possible. These leaders create supportive, vibrant spaces where purpose and community come together.
In line with this yearâs theme, âBe Bold. Make Change.â, Australian Red Cross is shining a light on the essential role our volunteer managers play in driving impact â not just behind the scenes, but at the heart of our retail network.
Today, on International Volunteer Managers Day, we say a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer manager, coordinator, and team leader across our Australian Red Cross shops. â¤ď¸

The Uber x Red Cross Clothing Drive returned for its seventh year this weekend - and it was our biggest yet! From Sydney to Melbourne, Brisbane to Adelaide, and all the way over to Perth, people came together to give, share, and support. You donated pre-loved clothes, helped spread the word, and most importantly, gave your time.
To every volunteer who lent a handâwhether guiding Uber drivers, sorting donations, keeping the energy high, or bringing good vibesâthank you. Your generosity and spirit transformed this from a clothing drive into a day filled with connection, purpose, and community.
With over 10,700 Uber courier pickups and approximately 125,000 kg of clothing donated, these generous donations will be sold in Australian Red Cross Shops, raising vital funds for people facing crisis, hardship, and disasterâboth here at home and around the world. Every purchase supports life-changing humanitarian work.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible partners at Uber. Your continued support makes this all possible, and weâre proud of the impact weâre creating together.
Missed this yearâs drive? No worries! Our Australian Red Cross shops accept donations all year round. Itâs never too late to give your clothes a second life. â¤ď¸
