Newton Wheel for Families Workshop (4 yrs+) Tuesday 26 May 11:00 - 13:00 Redbridge Central Library (Lab Central), Ilford Make your very own Newton wheel to take home and experiment with. Isaac Newton created one of the first colour wheels to help explain how colours relate to one another. Colour each section using bright crayons, give it a good spin, and watch the colours merge. It’s a simple but powerful way to see Newton’s ideas about light and colour in action. #ilford #redbridge #childrensevent #libraryevent #VisionRCL @do_morered @redbridgecouncil @inilford @exchangeilford

In Victorian times, people would place beautiful glass domes on graves, filled with precious objects, symbols and treasures to honour and remember their loved ones. Now that tradition is coming back to life and we want you to be part of it! 🕊 Newcastle-based 'Moving Parts Arts' has worked with local artists in Newcastle, London and Exeter to create three stunning new artworks inspired by this forgotten custom. But these aren't just artworks to look at – they belong to you. Community workshops will bring together local people to contribute their own icons, symbols and treasured objects to each piece, making every Immortelle a living portrait of its community. Come and see your Immortelle at Redbridge Central Library and discover the stories, memories and meanings woven into every detail by the people who live and work right here. 💭 This community art installation is free to view! Book onto the workshop here: vrcl.uk/afterlives-festival 💚 🗓️ Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 June ⏰ Saturday (14:00 to 16:00) & Sunday (11:00 to 13:00) 📍Redbridge Central Library #afterlivesfestival #DeathPositiveLibraries #ArtsCouncilEngland #FreeToAttend #LibraryEvents
