New Legend alert🚨‼️ This morning, @recognizegood was thrilled to visit @hospiceaustin to celebrate a very special volunteer of 40+ years- our newest and first Legend awardee of 2026, Marion Vise!🎉 Marion has devoted over 40 years of service to Hospice Austin, giving her gifts facilitating bereavement support groups where she’s helped thousands of Central Texans along the way.👏 To read more about her story, click the link in our bio!

New Lighthouse alert🚨‼️ This past Saturday @recognizegood welcomed Bobcat Build’s Big Event as our newest Lighthouse Awardee, and the official first Lighthouse of 2026!!🎉 Their 2,500 student, faculty, and staff volunteers extend a huge “Thank You” to their Hays County neighbors through community service efforts, making them known as one of @txst ‘s most valued service traditions for 23 years. Every group that participates in their The Big Event does so out of a love for keeping the community strong, which Bobcat Build’s Big Event’s team helps nourish every year! 🫶 To read more about their story, click the link in our bio! @txstleadserve

We like pointing out the good in our community.” “There are cool events all over Austin, and good things taking place,” says Jenkins. “But this may be as pure and sweet and special as anything that you’ll ever attend. At the end of the day, saying thanks is so important – and I love the tradition of gratitude and saying thank you.”

Last Friday, @recognizegood hosted our annual Say Thanks, Austin Closing Ceremony at City Hall- joined this year with special guests @rotaryaustin presenting the Four-Way Test Public Safety Awards! After a gratitude campaign running from January 5th-31st saw about 40,000 acts of appreciation submitted via text, web, email, social media, and paper forms to RecognizeGood, it’s safe to believe that Say Thanks, Austin 2026 was a success! We are continuously inspired by our RecognizeGood Legends and want to share our sincere thanks to our Class of 2025 Legends for going above and beyond to make our communities throughout Central Texas a better place! Special thanks to City Hall for hosting us to make this gathering extra special, and @atxgoodnews ’ Judy Maggio and Leslie Rhode, and @abc.texas ’ Bobby Jenkins for MC’ing! Congrats to our top 3 winners!!! Teenager Remmer Machamer received the grand $10,000 donation on behalf of Wreaths Across America, Delysia Moore received a $5,000 donation to the Hays County Food Bank, and Mike Metschan took a $2,000 donation back to Seedling. All of our other Legend honorees received a $500 donation. Following the results of the campaign, Darrick Eugene and Cindy Brummer from the Rotary Club of Austin hosted the Four-Way Test Public Safety Awards. Their Team Award Winner was the Austin-Travis County EMS C4 TEAM who was recognized for redefining emergency response by connecting patients to the right care at the right time through telehealth, resource navigation, and alternative treatment pathways. Captain Tom Szimanski from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office was the Individual Awardee- winning the honor for demonstrating exceptional leadership during the devastating July 4th flooding, serving as a steady and compassionate presence for impacted families and partner agencies. The four departments did not leave empty handed- RecognizeGood made a $1,000 donation to one charity on each of their behalf- going to: Austin EMS Foundation Fund Austin Firefighters Relief & Outreach Fund Austin Police Operation Blue Santa Sheriff’s Memorial & Benevolent Society of Travis County Thank you to everyone for participating and illuminating good!!
