We are celebrating 10 years of Recent Spaces! Founded by Iain Banks & Alex York in 2016, our team has built a forward-looking, innovative rendering agency, driven by a proudly independent approach and outlook, not just on our work and our industry but also on how we treat our people, and how we value their time and their lives. We have always done things a little differently, and for good reason. We set out to create a studio that would reflect the best of our previous experiences, refine them, build upon them and that would result in something unique and lasting. This fiercely independent-minded vision for the studio, which our artists and associates share, is revealed in our work no doubt, but also - and perhaps more importantly - in our relationships, with each other and with our clients. Most of our work comes from well-established relationships, with some going back as far as 10 years. We're known for our very unfussy and refined workflows and our highly creative and collaborative, open approach to working with branding agencies, real-estate firms, developers, interior designers, product designers and other creative innovators - and always in an understated way. We understand that our clients value that balance of reassuring, experienced calmness and exciting creativity and originality. Our team of dedicated artists from a highly diverse range of backgrounds and interests is extremely valuable, and being relatively boutique allows us to remain nimble and dynamic, to adapt to industry changes, or to drive them forward ourselves, setting the standard and challenging the 'norms'.
So today we celebrate all of it, and all of you! Linking any luxury property development to its immediate neighbourhood is probably the most important part of our job. In this series of renderings for Extell's bold and unique 50 West 66th Street, through very carefully designed and coordinated backplate photography Recent Spaces artfully connected the building to Central Park, the Hudson River, key landmarks on 'Billionaire's Row', including rendering and finishing incomplete under-construction buildings at the time, and of course other nearby Manhattan icons like Chrysler Building, Empire State Building, George Washington Bridge and more.
Construction has recently wrapped at 50W66 and a unit has recently sold for nearly $47 Million - the Upper West Side's priciest deal of 2025 and a record for the building (so far!). For Manhattan's latest landmark development, and the tallest in the UWS, Recent Spaces were selected by developers Extell to work with architects Snøhetta and SLCE, interior designers Shamir Shah Design and ABConcept, and branding agency Pandiscio Green.

Recent Spaces are proud to share the first of many striking visuals of Miami Design District's premiere luxury rental residences - Cassi Miami. Positioned at the gateway of the District, the neighborhood provides residents with a vibrant tapestry of iconic architecture, renowned public art, global fashion houses, and Michelin-starred culinary destinations. Spanning 20 floors, CASSI features 107 luxury rental residences and a suite of premium lifestyle amenities. Contemporary artist, Jorge Pardo, brings his textural and eclectic palette to CASSI with a three-story installation across the façade and sculptural pendant lamps, tilework, and furnishings throughout the lobby.

Our long-term creative marketing collaboration with the wonderful team at Anderson Tuftex continues with one of a large number of unique rooms we co-designed together recently to market their latest ranges of nature-inspired, eco-friendly luxury carpet products. Our team thoughtfully crafted these virtual spaces to bring out the products' subtle, forest floor-like biophilic designs without overpowering them.

Recent Spaces crafted this artful, atmospheric brand film in close collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana, JDS and Studio Scofield, for the marketing campaign for Branded Residential tower 888 Brickell - planned to be Miami's tallest building - capturing the development's world-class amenities while embodying the "Fatto a Mano" spirit of Italian craftsmanship, and designed with the discerning eye of Studio Sofield and Dolce&Gabbana for JDS Development Group. This is lifestyle-driven hospitality and residential design at the most elevated level. Many of our renderings and animations are on display at the stunning sales gallery.
