I know I’ve posted this picture a lot on my story, but today, I finally feel ready to share it here. I tried to keep this brief😅
I was in the bathroom at 2am precisely fr, and it hit me all at once, why this photo tugs at my heart every time I see it.
When I took this shot, it was just posing for me. But now, I see it differently. It’s like this picture has been trying to tell me something all along.
You know how artists say their best work comes from real, personal experiences? That’s exactly what this is. Except, back then, I didn’t realize it yet.
Some time ago, I hurt someone. Someone who didn’t deserve it. And I’ve been carrying that guilt, regret, and shame ever since. I’ve tried everything to move on, but it always seemed to come back, like a cycle of pain.
Looking at this picture now, the ropes represent the guilt, the shame, the depression. The screaming? That’s me fighting to break free, to forgive myself, and move forward.
For months, this has been my reality. Quiet battles, sleepless nights, relapses. It’s been painful.
But recently, I found the courage to truly let go. I realized healing doesn’t just come for the one who’s been hurt, it comes for the one who caused the hurt too. The one trying to grow. The one trying to change.
Healing isn’t linear. And even though I’m still bound in this picture, I’m telling you now:
I’ve found the courage to let go.
It’s not about who was wrong anymore, it’s about choosing peace for both of us.
I don’t know how it’s going to unfold, but I believe it’s going to get better one way or the other.
I pray that every day, greater courage comes to keep moving, keep changing, and keep growing.
"I pushed because I was scared. I pulled away because I didn’t know how to stay. But sometimes, growth means learning how to love myself enough to let go."
If you’re hurting, it’s okay to feel lost. Healing takes time, and it’s not always a straight line. For those of us who’ve hurt others, it’s okay to struggle with letting go and finding peace. As long as you genuinely want to change, you'll get there, even if it’s one step at a time💫

Putting this out there because @moh_pixels was one of the photographers I reached out to to collaborate with around the time I started my modeling career.
Obviously, he is based in Abuja, so we couldn’t work together at the time but we stayed in each other's radar.
He reached out to me last year, around late October / November, saying he wanted us to finally work together and that he was going to be in Lagos and I was so excited. He came to Lagos, put together the team, and we did the shoot. It was so, so fun. We created together, and I’m so, so grateful.
