Before putting 𝗡𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗗 𝗚𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗗 out there, it lived in conversations with friends. One of them was Rein. You know him as @rds_dl , and you might remember the live set he played during ADE and the absolute scenes it caused. It was a full-circle moment for a dear BFC friend, and amazing to see Rein pour his soul into the room after 18 months of obsessive prep.
Rein is a Noord native, the set was properly gestoord, and with 𝗡𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗗 𝗚𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗗 now just around the corner, we figured it’s high time we share it. Feel the magic through the 🔗 in bio.

RDS showcases his darker side opening the EP with “Four Monsters,” produced using the EMU E-64, delivers a loud, heavy bassline that unveils the artist’s aggressive side. Followed by “64+1 Voices” is inspired by the sound of 90s Belgian bleep techno, mixing old-school vibes with a modern twist.
On the B side, the most psychedelic track on the record, “Bias Adj” features an unusual groove and a haunting background that evolves throughout. Midway, a powerful lead bass enters, using a factory preset from the Yamaha DX200. Finally, “Slep2bn” is an electro track featuring steady rolling rimshots, classic 303 basslines, melodic bleeps, and immersive atmospheric textures.

In a far away pre covid 2019, we used to be housemates, and made a lot of tunes together.
We ended up one day in a studio setup that was a bit unfamiliar, new patch bays, new machines. The first jam ended up around 155 bpm and became a really special piece of music. However, after dropping down the tempo by 30 bpm, and forgetting which button did what, somehow this jam emerged. It reminded us of early UK dreamy tech house, and was put out as the digital bonus on a @kalaharioystercult EP of Eversines.
For @delichting ‘s new album ‘Vier’, this track finally gets its place on record, closing out the compilation. Hope you like it, it’s special to us :)
‘Aerial Reflections’ is my solo contribution to Vier, our latest compilation from @delichting . It feels special that after all these years, we’re doing another compilation. The track is also one of my personal favorites that I’ve made in the last few years, so it feels right to put it alongside the crew on this record.

Performing live at @dohm____ in Rotterdam this Saturday (7/02).
I have heard really lovely things about Dohm. And it’s going to be the first time I perform in the center of the room. Also bringing a 19 rack for effects with me for some extra dubbyness.
Over the last few weeks, I have worked out some new ideas and recorded liveset material for two new EPs, so I think that both project and the music has improved a bit again.

I wrote new material on the machines over the last few weeks & made some adjustments in the set. Keen to play it all (again).
To us, ADE is about dancing with friends, and few bonds run as deep as ours with RDS. He’s prepared something truly special for his live set in RADION this Saturday. We tagged along during his soundcheck to catch a glimpse of the magic he conjures from his machines. Ninety minutes of pure bliss incoming at 14:00. Don’t miss out.
EP alert! Last week, my new EP ‘Four Monsters’ was released on @undersoundrecordings .
I’m very glad with how this one turned out. As many of my close music friends know, I am a huuuge sucker for the early days of British Bleep and Belgian Techno on R&S Recordings etc. Over the years, this inspiration has also influenced my jams. I feel that this EP comes the closest to that dark and moody sound so far.
The release is vinyl only. You can buy it either via the @undersoundrecordings Bandcamp or at some local shops (I know that @killacutzrecords has a few copies in stock).
This will be my last solo EP for a little while. Since the start of the year, my main focus has been on writing new tracks specifically for my live set (more info on that later!!).
