another magical view from a hot air balloon floating over teotihuacƔn, mexico. 2023.
the sunrise was genuinely so wild on this morning. the air was crisp and chilly but the view warmed my heart. it was so peaceful and i recall being in absolute awe with @el_doradx and his parents as we looked on. we glided through the clouds and the stunning rays that began covering the land with a hazy sunshine. i sometimes wish every morning looked as glorious as this one, but then maybe the specialness of particular moments and experiences like might be lost to me.

view from a hot air balloon floating over the teotihuacĆ”n pyramids, 2023. this was during a beautiful trip with @el_doradx and his family to mexico city. we became absolutely enamored with cdmx! i canāt wait to go back.
over the past 5 years iāve traveled a lot and honestly didnāt bother to develop any film until this year. my relationship with photography has become frustratingly contentious as i try to find a space for myself with the demands of capitalism and survival constantly breathing down my neck. i havenāt wanted to share much of my work or my life, really, on social media. everything is plagued by so much expectation and weight. anyways, over the coming days iāll share some more photographs from this trip. much more to come (if i decide to post, but whatever). much love ā¤ļø

feeling an immense gratitude for making it through a truly topsy turvy year. couldnāt have made it without all of these beautiful people, and so many more that iām missing because 10 photos will never be enough.
big love for 2024 and more lumlum fish forever. maybe iāll post more. letās not hold our breath though for that one. š¤
without a doubt, this is my favorite shot from this shoot. when i did the shoot, i had just seen the @elizavetaporodina exhibition at @fotografiska.newyork and felt incredibly inspired by her use of texture and movement throughout her work. i retouched the images with her artistry in mind and am so happy with the outcome. she is such a talented artist and pushing my style a bit was a ton of fun to do.
as iāve been working to find my way again as an artist, i decided that one of the best ways to approach my passion is through play, experimentation, and the challenge of trying something thatās new to me.
iāve been wanting to make portraits that point toward the purity of color and how itās application on the face and/or body becomes a literal playground for fun, excitement, and ultimately play. this is simply a color experiment and it was energizing shooting it.
i want to continue finding ways to challenge myself as i continue with these experimental shoots, like creating an environment or set building. iāve never been particularly handy, but youād better believe that iām gonna try. if anyone has any suggestions on set building or sourcing pieces to create an environment, let me know! š¤Ŗ
recently, iāve been inspired by the makeup artistry of @chiaolihsu . iāve been enamored by her use of pigments and her incredible application of colors.
iām by no means a makeup artist, but i love the opportunity to play on different canvases. the face and body have always been areas of interest for me and i intend to continue experimenting and simply making images that are fun and bring me joy.
this specific image somewhat teases the makeup application, but it was really fun and iām excited to share some of the photos from this shoot and to discover more about makeup as a method of self expression and creative output.
one more for now of this radiant beauty āŗļø it was actually foggy again this morning, though i didnāt photograph it this time. iām learning that itās equally important to spend time just seeing. this is truly my personal slice of heaven.
