👏👏👏 Huge congrats to all the amazing students who took part in the Bath Photography Competition run jointly by @bathspauni@uniofbath@norlandcollege . Last night was such a fantastic evening. It was an absolute privilege to view your work, so much talent on show, you should all be immensely proud.
🌍 As an educational charity in Bath which promotes understanding and collaboration, we were delighted to see students from across the city coming together to share not only their talent but also the opportunity to make new friends. We really do hope to meet you all again at future events!
🌟 Special thanks go to the Deputy Mayor of Bath for awarding the prizes and @brlsi for providing such a wonderful space in which to host the event.
🇬🇧🇦🇺 RCS members recently joined with the West Country branch of the Britain-Australian Society for a Commonwealth Anzac service at St John’s church at Sutton Veny where they remembered Australians and New Zealanders who gave their lives during and after the First World War. A wreath was laid on behalf of the branch by one of our Trustees, Captain John Ledgister.
📸 We are once again delighted to be sponsoring the annual student photographic competition run jointly by @bathspauni@uniofbath and @norlandcollege . Themes this year include Nurturing Bath and the Community, Repair and Moments of Confidence, amongst others.
🌟Finalists will have their work displayed @brlsi , with winners being announced on the night and prizes awarded by the acting Mayor of Bath.
🌏 Do join us for this wonderfully uplifting celebration of talent. It’s always such a great evening, a chance for students from across the city to come together and mingle. Light refreshments will be available.

You are warmly invited to lunch followed by a fascinating talk by Mark Guthrie, an international barrister who worked for the Commonwealth Secretariat between 2009-2018.
Mark has also worked with judiciaries around the Commonwealth to help advance the rule of law and, in particular, judicial independence. He has also held senior human rights roles in the OSCE Mission to Bosnia Herzegovina and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.
Payment for the lunch/talk can be made via our website or by cheque to our secretary.
Please note, this will be a fish based lunch with a vegetarian option. So please let us know which you’d prefer when booking and also any specific dietary requirements you may have.
We look forward to seeing you all.

From code breakers at Bletchley Park to Jamaican radio operators, from Land Army “girls” to Indian naval officers, from pilots in the ATA to resistance fighters and those who endured torture for helping POWs.
All these heroic stories of determination and resilience show the breadth and diversity of women’s service and the impact of the women’s wartime organisations they were involved with.
Join Anita St John Gray (Trustee of RCS Bath and District branch) as she shares these very important stories and honours heroic women from across the Commonwealth.
Tickets are available via the BRLSI website.

CONGRATULATIONS to @unadaragona who has won the @rcs_bath Artists’ Visitors Prize with this beautiful painting! ✨⭐️✨
Una d’Aragona
Ithell Reverie
Oil on Canvas
This work was inspired by the esoteric work of British Surrealist and occultist Ithell Colquhoun; her work was fuelled by a magical and felt connection to the ancient stones and landscape of Cornwall, Una's home for many years. The painting is dreamlike in its combining of a female water being with a bog person, trees and a bird, all elements in celtic legend and lore.
Thank you to all of the artists who took part in @rcsbathart prize 2026!
