Feeling especially grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Katie Spelman and Ali Silber. Two artists and humans I admire so deeply. And as always, so thankful The Playhouse keeps inviting me back to play with them. From auditions to rehearsal rooms to all of the little behind-the-scenes moments in between, this process has felt a bit like finding our own Brigadoon. A fleeting, magical place full of heart, trust, joy, artistry, and just the right amount of Scottish mischief and charm. The kind of experience you wish you could bottle up and disappear into whenever the world feels a little too ordinary. And of course, extra love for Obie. The true emotional support star of the audition room and rehearsal process. Endless gratitude to our four-legged supervisor, who attended nearly every audition, quickly became the unofficial heart of the room, and somehow managed to keep us all on a stricter schedule than anyone else involved. 🐾 Honored to have played a small part in helping this company find each other. A very special milestone for VELOCITY last week: the first-ever play reading to take place inside the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History! I couldn’t be more proud of this team. Mike Donahue continues to be one of my greatest collaborators, and Stephen Laughton’s writing shines with such clarity and heart. Immense gratitude to Josh Sharp, Johnny Sibilly, and Myra Lucretia Taylor for bringing this story to life with such generosity. ✨
