Holy crap. ‘Please Stop Laughing’ is out today. Our album. The thing we’ve been working on this whole time whether we knew it or not. But now we know. This is the result of 5 years of living, writing and touring together. We’re on this funny path and we wouldn’t be doing this without each other so thank you to whatever fateful entity brought us together.
We are eternally indebted to anyone who has spent time with our music and included it in their lives. Thank you to all of those beautiful people out there who call themselves fans of Ray Bull because without you this wouldn’t exist. And thank you to our families, partners, and friends. Your love keeps us going, keeps the wheels spinning, keeps the lights on.
A huge debt of gratitude is owed to
@carlsonhq whose imprint is across the entire album. He produced every track with us and we recorded the entire thing together at his studio in
@garyselectricstudio in Greenpoint USA. You can hear him all over it, playing sax and synths. Not to mention the whole thing was mixed by him. What can’t he do? We don’t know. Thank you to
@quentin.andrianasitera who helped with vocal tracking and engineering and thank you to
@ericlagg for mastering the record.
Big love big shout out to
@fpa.etc for drumming on a bunch of these tracks and taking so much care in what he does and bringing these songs to life when we hit the road. Pedal to the metal. Fletcher has been with us from day one, in 2019, back when Ray Bull was still young and stupid; climbing out of our own primordial ooze, the bright autumnal sun spilling into our open eyes with our bellies empty, hearts full and heads spinning. We started off in his closet sized practice space (no offense) back when we had no idea what we were doing, not that we do now.
Thank you to
@beanaumann81 for contributing some beautiful violin.
