the craziest part is that i still have a few rolls of medium format #portra160 that hasn’t been scanned yet so technically this isn’t even the last one.

amg materialism, large format film
it’s almost a crime that i haven’t shared any of these yet. these are a few large format frames captured during the build up for the @mercedesamgmotorsport materialism campaign. the first shot in particular has quickly become a favorite, because who shoots rollers of a 6.3L V8 driving around los angeles with a large format view camera out of a van?

not much to say here. just a post of cars on film.
(share your favorite and i’ll love you 4eva)
i often describe my work as a love of photography first, followed by a strong appreciation of cars. that said, boy do i love myself a great car + photo. whether you’ve followed my work for a while or if you’re new here, enjoy some of my favorites :)

In Ray Dobson’s 'Respite/Don’t Worry, I’ll Wake Up', three workers lie on the carpeted floor of a Japanese ferry, catching sleep wherever they can. Hard hats rest nearby, afternoon light pours through the window, and the surrounding signage—“Authorized Personnel Only,” “Use of Bedding Prohibited”—quietly underscores the tension between regulation and human necessity.
The photograph is a document of labor, fatigue, and the small acts of surrender that make endurance possible. Dobson notices what most of us pass by—the unscripted moments that reveal how people inhabit the spaces between work and rest.

you never forget the first time you see a 617 negative, i certainly didn’t after seeing this one from @air__water . looking at this on the light table, and even after scanning it, i was completely shocked at the quality, detail, and scale that thing has. unreal.
Make sure to stop by @iconla on May 9th from 5:30pm–8:30pm for @ray.dobson and @baggen.photos special exhibition, “Things I’ve Seen That Others Missed.”
Ray has been part of the extended Race Service family since his intern days, documenting the RS journey and capturing so many moments along the way. We’re stoked to celebrate both of these amazing photographers and see everything they’ve worked so hard on.
ive been consistently going back and forth on whether or not i should sell my Mamiya C220. I use my RZ67 way more but seeing these newer scans, the square format has started to grow back on me.
I credit a lot of that to @negative.supply ’s toolsto scan medium format. I think I disliked shooting with the C220 because I could never get a photo I was happy with and a lot of that is due to the massive pain in the ass that my flatbed scanner gave me.
