This one’s for you, me and anyone else out there struggling with life. Steve, brother… it’s with a heavy heart that I share this: you touched me and moved my life in ways words can’t describe. You’ll always be one of the biggest influences that helped shape and shift my life in so many ways. I was lucky enough to call you my friend… my brother. And since you left, I’ve been through the trenches and back trying to understand why you were taken from this beautiful world. Truth is… I didn’t have the courage or the will to live for a long time. Losing you broke me. But it’s with courage and determination I can finally say this: you still light my world, my man. You’ve been one of the biggest parts of my life to date, and you’ll continue to help shape my vision and perspective for the rest of my life. What’s happened in the past will stay in the past. And the cat is out of the bag! Rascal's "No Tricks" EP is finally here! There is a story behind every piece of music and this release is no different. Zapped cofounder Papa K and Rascal have been deep in the music scene together since 2007. Jay Berry, also connected with the lads through the scene in Brisbane and his contribution to the release through the original version of Hypnotrick gives a glimpse to the versatility of sound coming from Queensland's capital. The three were involved in number of party brands in their hometown and after working with Alexkid to further their production skills Papa received the final motivation to make the jump to Germany. 5 years from that moment the culmination of work which has spanned many years has finally come together and we couldn't be happier to offer up this fresh release to the world! Rising talent Rangø from Kiel rounds out the EP with a dance floor focused yet rather heady mix of Sunshine proving that no matter where you come from if you have the passion you can make it happen. We've tested all the tracks and can confirm they are dance-floor ready as well as having received a lot of great feedback from a number of artists that we respect - go check it out at your favourite digital music store and see what all the fuss is about.

Following, Rascal delivers a fresh ‘version’ of his collaboration with @jay_berry_music entitled ‘Hypnotrick’. Shifting into minimalistic territories with twitchy vocal cuts, stripped back drums and haunting, airy chords. @therealrangoe rework of ‘Sunshine’ opens the latter half of the package, laying down a combination of acid-tinged bass stabs, shuffled percussion, dubby chord sequences and fluttering atmospherics, all subtly nuanced throughout its six and a half minute duration The @papakmusic Remix of ‘Sunshine’ then rounds out the EP, fuelled by billowing textures, glitched out bass notes, warbling synth textures and an amalgamation of hypnotic chopped and processed voices.
