The vending machines, located at 5 sites around the City, are part of the department's broader strategy to prevent overdose and increase harm reduction resources. Each machine will be stocked with Naloxone or Narcan, fentanyl test strips, general hygiene kits, socks and underwear, and other important public health supplies. These items will be free to anyone in Chicago. This pilot program is just one way CDPH works to connect with the community and aims to provide harm reduction supplies to individuals who may not otherwise access them. 🛹 FRIDAY 5:00pm🕊️ _______Repost @froskate_______ We will be holding a candlelight vigil in honor of Tyre Nichols this FRIDAY the 10th at 5pm in CHICAGO at Grant Skatepark. This is a healing focused vigil to hold space to honor the life of Tyre and all victims effected by police brutality. 🕯️ ❤️ Tyre Nichols was a 29-year old father, son, photographer and apart of the skateboarding community we call home and family. His life was brutally taken too soon by 5 police officers in Memphis, Tennessee on January 10th. We encourage everyone in Chicago to come out and especially call on the entire skate community to pull up to show love for Tyre’s life. 🛹 The vigil will consist of body healing rituals, spoken word, sound healing, live song performances, alter making (please bring anything you would like for a Tyre Memorial) and candle lighting ceremony.
