was meant to post this ages ago lol but just wanted to say thanks very much if you came down to the british museum a couple weeks ago to see some of my garments @rasa.ldn exhibited! means so much to be showing my work and having people engage with them too in such a meaningful way - met so many lovely ppl + had such rich conversations 💝 ty @bmyoungpeople for selecting my work to be shown alongside so many other talented south asian creatives and designers my work is about celebrating unseen south asian textiles and forming them into pieces you can wear anywhere and anytime 💫💘

a little visual diary of how i made something out of the fabric i found at an outdoor market in paris 🌟 wanted to document how i made the top from designing it, to sourcing the fabric, to sewing it together! i actually forgot to take pictures of the whole process (e.g. sewing on the strap + ruching it to create the bunching effect) lol but captured the main essence of it 🩵

some process shots of a top i’m working on atm 🌼 hopefully will be wearing it at my upcoming gig at @thegeorgetavern on 26 june! ticket link in bio :) it’s an all south asian line-up, big up @htmljones for organising this is fabric is really special as it’s actually my Nan’s old chunni. when i visited her in Delhi in Jan this year she gave it to me after seeing all the other stuff i’ve made already 🥺❤️ it’s such a gorgeous dusty blue colour and carries so much history + is my favourite fabric of my collection

making a top from start to finish ft. a little music studio break lol was a bit hard filming the process whilst trying to sew but wanted to show u guys my creative process :) really glad with how this came out! pictures to come 🦋 this fabric is really something special and came all the way from a little fabric market in jaipur - i think i have a video somewhere in my camera roll of when i first spotted the fabric back in jan, will post it if i find it. defo wearing this top to my next performance - more on that soon !
