I'm really happy to have such nice pictures of Merlwyb, they are a great memento to keep because I think I will retire her for now, unless someone asks me to cos her in the future 😅 I learned a lot through the process from start to finish, can't wait to apply that knowledge in future costumes 🥰 In the meantime, the Chief Admiral will sit nicely in storage and be a reminder of the fun journey I went through with everyone. Gamescom 2024 reel is out!!! Thank you so much @ryouko65 for filming and putting this together for me, it really captures how I felt in the moment T T soundtrack choice is also by her! It is such a precious memory of mine and I will hold it dear to my heart 💖 I think all of us cosplay to pay homage to the characters we love and bring them to life; it happens that in the process, you can watch your hard work come to fruition!! [gamescom asia 2024 appreciation post] Long post ahead!! At the start of the year, I resolved to join competitions, and go to overseas cons etc. But some personal stuff happened, so I shelved those thoughts... it was uncertain if I would ever fulfill any of my resolutions 🥲 However, I saw this competition and thought hey, maybe that could work...in the end I got accepted!! Thank you so much @gamescomasia for the opportunity to participate in this competition, it means a lot to me ☺️ it was also quite well organised and the judges were so nice and knowledgeable!! I think if/when I join competitions next time, I'll hold them up to these standards 🎉🎉 I also got the opportunity to meet some really lovely cosplayers, thank you to @harnuin @kiwi_kimichen @lawlietcos and @potato_empress for talking to me while waiting for pre-judging, seeing them describe the process of making their costume was honestly, very very inspiring 🥺🥺✨️✨️  I don't think I can do any sewing for now, but I sure am going to see if I can explore that option! The competition also helped me recenter myself in this hobby. Tbh I was feeling a little lost, like I wasn't good enough sometimes 😅 I'm glad this competition proved me wrong and showed me that my effort can pay off 💪 Thank you to my friends who came down to support me, who listened to my briefing like, 3 times on what to do and even memorised my routine (thanks DF XD), I think my voice was not booming enough on stage, but thank you for catching the cue and being my saluting Maelstrom soldiers 🫡🟥✨️ More huge thank yous to: @ryouko65 , my precious friend and helper for this competition, who without which I don't think anything would have been possible. She was the best help I could ask for and I am so grateful for her support!!! Are we back in 2021 🤯🤯 Castlevania is definitely an older series and I was surprised anyone recognised us XD but thank you all who did!! Castlevania remains alive 💪💪 @ryouko65 and I were supposed to do this last year (that's still 3 years after Season 4 released...) but life got in the way 😔 we've finally done our cosgroup with @arctic_wolf_eleven though!!! I'm pretty excited to share the rest of the pictures ^^ For the costume, the bracers were made with foam, fake leather and cloth - they're actually quite solid!! It was fun drafting and making them. Pants were bought to replace what came with the costume. The bracer "tail" cloth matches colours almost exactly with the pants and I'm really happy about that 💪 The belt had to be replaced because it was very flimsy, but it was easy to make 👍 Morningstar whip 3D files were from @thedangerousladies ; print pieces were provided by @mush.mers and post-processing was by me. The morningstar chain is an actual metal chain because I thought plastic would look too cheap...metal is good looking and has a nice weight, however that means that this prop is a little heavier than usual. You have to handle it with care too, or the print will break at the part where the chain is attached. Wig is by me! Wahoo hairlines Overall it was a fun costume to both wear and (kind of) make!! Finally debuted our Persona 3 Reload S.E.E.S team and also Junpei 😇😇 I love Junpei!!! He's definitely not the most popular but his character development is amazing, you can't help but like him as you progress the game 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ I was a bit worried I couldn't portray him accurately because he isn't your typical ikemen - he doesn't have many aspects that I can use to "hide" my feminine traits, like hair or more layers of clothes....Junpei's hair is sooo short, I got him a wig but in the end just using a wig cap and my real hair worked the best 🤣 Not to mention he's tall and lanky! RIP Luckily, the pictures turned out great and I'm happy with the results!!
