Another incredible day to wrap up our weekend at Open Christchurch (and our Insta takeover). Hard to sum up how great everything was – it is truly the stuff of dreams to see a festival like this welcoming thousands of people to engage with architecture and design and play their part in shaping the city around them. A huge mihi to the team for inviting us to be part of the festival, and thanks to all the volunteers and guides who make the festival so special. Our first 24 hours of the amazing @openchch festival! What a time, what a city. We’re so lucky to be here on this very special weekend of celebrating Ōtautahi’s architecture. Ōtautahi architecture dump

Wonderful to be part of today’s blessing of the two major integrated artworks at Te Tumu @nzicc Te Pekerangi o te Iwi Rau, by @peatalarkin and @sara_hughesartist respectively were gifted their names by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, who led this morning’s beautiful ceremony. There were many of the best kind of tears. So happy for these incredible creators and what they’ve achieved

I was there at the beginning and it meant a lot to be there at the end

Capacious but not cavernous, muscular yet intimate, arduous but now complete - it was wonderful to see the @nzicc primed and ready to start doing what it was designed to do. Extra special to take it in with collaborators Rachel and Stuart of @boffamiskell who are just one of the countless contributors to the project. Many thanks to Simon for the tour.
