Our March releases continued at our
@rarcc nursery, as it was a full circle moment for Siobhan Houlihan and Clint Karger from
@seaworldaus who released Shishino — the last remaining pup hatched from a
@seaworldaus egg! 🇦🇺
Next, Katrine Bosley released Lizzie (egg from
@georgiaaquarium ), a pup she sponsored and named after her niece. Finally, the team released Rima, named in honour of Dr. Rima Jabado, Chair of
@iucnshark and member of the ReShark Council.
All six pups released in March 2026 by our StAR Indonesia team measured over 100 cm at release, with Leah the largest at 117 cm and 5.3 kg. Five of the six sharks (all except Lizzie) were fitted with microPAT satellite tags, scheduled to detach in late April when the team returns to Kri for the next round of releases.
Good luck to Leah, Brunswick, Abam, Lizzie, Shishino, and Rima — and here’s hoping for some great satellite tag data from their journeys! 🛰🦈
