On the road again. The work contains immigrant families, laborers, and American born workers in the same series bridging the groups and showcasing the many commonalities that they share. The protagonists are painted with happy and hopeful demeanors in an illustrative style that creates accessibility to a wide range of audiences and invites them to rethink the family, the immigrant and the American worker narrative.

Going West. Vermont bears! Super fun collaboration between @_superstories_ and the students at PPLC in Rutland Vermont last week. This was the first mural that I finished last week with the students at PPLC, and had a lot of support from the high school students and staff of @allenstreetcampus as well!

This is the student lounge area, so I was very happy to be able to bring some color into the space.

The mural was designed based on feedback and ideas that some of the students had at @allenstreetcampus and has little abstract iconography like a symbol for flannel, some mountains and pine trees, and a couple of the other little Easter eggs you gotta search for!

Rainbow Trout! Finished this mural this week during a day of painting with @_superstories_ and the students at PPLC in Rutland, Vermont! The concept for this mural came from one of the students that attends @allenstreetcampus who wanted a scene celebrating the rainbow trout and Rutland.

One of my main goals as an artist with a community centered mural practice is to listen to the people who use the space and try to reflect their values and visions into each one of the works we paint together.

This room will now become the new weight room for the high school students that will be attending PPLC next year! What a cool place for a mural.

Vermont Mountains. This was the first mural that I finished in the gym/skatepark with @_superstories_ at @allenstreetcampus a few weeks ago. The school wanted me to paint a landscape based on Vermont mountains and trees. After showing my first sketch to @grooseling she added a couple of marks on the mountains that made my sketch so much better and I used her idea throughout the whole wall. Itâs great to have a partner who always makes everything better for you!

WILD! A super fun mural initiated by one of the students that I worked with last week at @allenstreetcampus with @_superstories_ . I absolutely love working at the school and with their students, as I am able to bring in these opportunities for creativity and I am able to bring the ideas that they have to life on these walls.

For this mural one of the students asked me if we could paint some images of some coyotes and bears because those animals are tough, and so is the school. So we had an impromptu brainstorming workshop with some of the teachers and students to come up with the rest of the iconography, words and images that would be used on this wall.
.
I wholeheartedly believe that we need more art, and creative experiences for young people now more than ever. I have dedicated my time to having a community centered mural practice, and I hope that I can continue to paint for and with the communities for the foreseeable future!
