I’m turning 50 in September. OMG—how did this happen?
If 40 is an eye-opener, then 50 is a jaw-dropper.
Part of me wants to run away, change my name, and buy a ridiculously big wig.
But another, sillier, more sentimental part of me says, “Hell, man, embrace it! Roll with the punches. Do something you love, with all your pals. Self-indulge—and hope for the best.”
And so, I present: JAY-O-PALOOZA.
An event featuring an amazing, self-indulgent line-up, inspired by those wise and timeless lyrics: “I’ll get by with a little help from my friends!”

2024 was a tough year. I needed therapy—and I found it!
Somehow, I heard that @steph_for_king and @paul_m_gioia were working on an album. I listened to one of their tracks in progress and thought it was great.
I managed to convince them to let me join their quest—on bass.
This meant weekly trips to @asylumstudiosza in Pretoria, which also meant traffic. But traffic led to lengthy discussions about music, the songs being recorded, and life in general.
The result? BEHATED.
