For nearly two decades, Jake Johnson has built his name in desert racing. Since starting in 2007 in a Class 1 car, he’s raced everything from Class 1 machines to TT, stacking multiple stateside championships along the way. But for Jake, racing has never just been about the trophies; it’s about the people in the truck and the ones waiting at the finish line.
His race program has always been a family effort. Sisters, cousins, his dad, and close friends have all taken turns in the navigator seat over the years, making every race a shared adventure.
This year, Johnson Racing is headed to Baja for the NORRA Baja 6 Day Rally, chasing one of the biggest prizes in desert racing. To become the first King of Baja.

In 2023, Jake bought his own 6100 Spec Trophy Truck, and this will be the truck’s first time ever racing at NORRA with it. But Jake already knows what the NORRA rally is all about. He previously raced at NORRA with the Feldkamps in Evolution Unlimited Buggies.
This year, they’re writing a new chapter.
For the first time ever, Jake is putting his dad behind the wheel for a couple of Stages so he can experience what it’s like to drive in Baja himself.
