Three Cheers for Twenty Years to the band that shaped my love for music, and got me through some of the toughest moments of life. When you’re at your lowest without the strength to pull yourself back out, music is always there to remind you that you’re not alone and it will get better. That is what these records did for me, and I know they did it for so many others. To say that this was a special night would be an understatement, and it’s hard to find the words to express just how much it healed me to hear these songs and see them performed live. I will never stop being thankful for not only having the privilege to capture the night, but to have been here to experience it at all. We were going to announce a tour today but I feel that this is much more important. I’m Im sitting here trying to find the words with my stomach turning. An absolute staple and icon in the central FL music scene was taken the other night in the middle of a show and is now just sitting in Orange County Jail and could be sent to the ICE Detention Center.. I’ve spent years booking shows here not just for Bay Street but the scene as a whole and it’s absolutely mind boggling to hear and think that such a thing could happen. If it wasn’t for him most of the band likely would have a hard time getting into Orlando for shows. Ourselves included. He has been the most open and accepting of all styles of artist and creators (literally). One of the most quintessential pieces to the Orlando music scene with a love that’s stronger than most. While im sure everyone is working on something as well, we will be working on some kind of benefit show for this. In the meantime if anyone knows of anyway for me or the rest of Bay Street to help, PLEASE do not hesitate to reach out.
