ABOUT THURSDAY NIGHT! We shelled it down for Lives Not Knives, Brixton! Thank you to everyone who showed up for us made it a party, and raised £££ for our work to prevent and reduce youth violence and knife crime. Really pleased to announce my appointment as a Trustee on the Board of the Lives Not Knives (@lnkcharity ) charity. Over the past 7 years, there have been numerous fatal stabbings of young people within a mile of where I’ve lived in various places in South London. Due to this, knife crime has become an issue that has become very close to my heart, and has affected me and the communities I’ve lived in deeply. It has led me to want to assist in the mission of tackling it in a committed and ongoing way, and I am excited to now be able to do that through my Trusteeship. LNK is a brilliant youth-led charity headquartered in Croydon which, since 2007, has worked to prevent knife crime and youth violence by engaging, educating and empowering young people, and supporting them towards a life away from violence and towards brighter futures through its programmes and initiatives. As a Trustee, I’ll be assisting the charity with legal and strategical matters, as well as contributing boots-on-the-ground volunteering. Funnily enough I did still have a life whilst organising Lives in the Mix 🤣 few Q1 highlights ✌🏽

With the dust settled on Lives in the Mix 2026, myself & Team LNK want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make it possible. The amazing team of volunteers at @ecubeduk , including my eCubed partner in crime @abc_quirks , the support from @brixtonjamm , our amazing and talented artists who donated their time and talent to support our cause as well as their supporting artists, agents and management teams, the @drumandbasseventslondon , @dnb_jungle_events and @dnbsober accounts who provided us a major boost with promo, our generous raffle donors, and of course everyone who came out to support by purchasing a ticket, a t-shirt, or a raffle ticket, as well as those who couldn’t make it but chose to make a donation anyway. Think it’s fair to say it was a huge success! Anyone who knows me knows that tackling youth violence, and drum and bass music, are two things I’m immensely passionate about, so having the opportunity to combine the two and put on this event to support LNK was something I’m honoured and privileged to have been able to do. The event was our first ever one of its kind, had been 6 months in the making, and was put together on a shoestring budget. Together we raised thousands of pounds to go towards LNK’s continuing and vitally important mission tackling youth violence which is something that virtually everyone, regardless of background or political persuasion, can get behind. The money raised will support continued delivery of our school roadshows, increase the number of 1:1 mentoring sessions with young people that we can provide, and support our provision of safe spaces for vulnerable children. That alone won’t end knife crime and youth violence, but every young person whose life we can help to turn around is a success story, and our mission is to help as many of them as we can.
